Colonial - fairly ordinary for the plebs .. much preferred the Tennis Centre ( had some bands there and geting a drink was easy).

Brunswick St. - nice and laid back. After the astonishment and emotion of 2001, it was more 'how good is this ? ' and relief that the team has been confirmed as one of the greats of all time. Last year was a euphoric sprint to the line, this year deep satisfaction after a hard , committed slog. You need to have both in your team to be great and we found out that the team does.

Went to both this year, and both last year.

My play on things - last year was sheer euphoria. I couldn't believe we'd actually done it.

This year - sheer satisfaction. Savour savour savour.

The Victory Room was pretty good. I thought the boys speeches were great. I thought Dessie's face was going to break from all that smiling. Shatts was soaking it up like a kid in a candy store. I do really like the Scotties - they are gracious in victory and give 100% to the supporters. They are always there the longest and always have a chat.

I was having a chat to Chrissie Scott - I was just saying thanks, we appreciate what you are doing for us. He just shook his head and smiled and couldn't respond.

And Brunswick Street - once again it was more savouring than anything else. The speeches were great. I especially liked Pikey's. For the old Fitzroy people, what he said about 1996 and the sad faces, and how its turned full circle, was great. The Melbourne based supporters gave those who had travelled down a big cheer, and vice-versa.
