We are travelling to Melbourne next week to watch the game against the Bulldogs and the best tickets we can get are for third tier.

While that is not a disaster, I thought I'd ask if anyone has any tier two tickets to the game they want to get rid of.

PM me if you have any - happy to pay full price.

I wouldn't be surprised if you could get better at the gate. It's hardly going to be a sellout.

Yeah I reckon Wigarus is right. I'd just be buying them at the gate and sitting wherever you want. There'll be <20k people in a 50K stadium.

Just because the third tier at Subiaco is no good... honestly I reckon the top deck at Etihad is the best. You see the play unfurl, you're close to the play (you really hang over it), and the atmosphere seems to reverberate most up there. That'll be like $17 and there's no point paying double for seats that aren't twice as good.

Unlike the MCG, I think at Etihad, you can't sit wherever you want if you buy a ticket, even if the crowd is tiny. If you buy a tier three ticket, you have to sit in tier three.
Ah ok, I didn't realise that. But there are lower tier GA tickets that let you sit wherever you want aren't there?

Thanks everyone. We went to the Bullies game last year at Etidah and sat in tier two and had heaps of Freo people around - was hoping to replicate that! Might just buy them at the gate as suggested; I'm sure it won't be a huge crowd. We might even outnumber the Bullies fans :)

OP has been there before, and seemingly understands that the game won't be a sellout, yet still feels the need to start a thread.

If I called him a dumb shit I would get carded, yet he seems to have an open ticket to say what he likes about me.

Nah...you're a dumb shit.

When I have friends visiting I just ask at the ticket window what the cheapest is - got level one at the saints game last year for same price as GA, plus a free upgrade for my membership.

Would have to be one of the worst places to watch sport on the entire planet there. Couldn't believe it when someone on here said that they had sat there for 10 years or something when over that time there would have been the opportunity to move to decent places before membership was full.

Hi, guys! Having never watched a footy game in Melbourne, I have no idea how warm to dress. Packing my clothes for my trip today, so I would appreciate any of the other Freo chicks on the board give me advice on how rugged up I have to be in Etihad?

Also, does digital radio telecast have the same delay with the afl app when watching live? I don't have a radio to use. :(

I've not been to etihad but since it's Melbourne and its always ******* cold watching the footy, I would think boots, jeans, long sleeve top/knit with a jacket over and space for freo scarf/freo jumper. I get cold easily, but it's better to bring extra layers that you can take off if you get a bit hot.

Thanks! I may wear a thermal undershirt with a long sleeved shirt and my Freo scarf, jeans, and boots... Hopefully that will be enough.

Not one of you Melbourne based guys offered to keep Grape Bear warm.

Soft.
Don't know what would be keeping Grape Bear warmer... my body heat or the kinetic energy generated by Mrs Tonga Bob's inevitable scowling.

I'd go with what the late great Bill Hicks said... "I'm a mammal. I can afford coats, scarves, cappuccino and rosy cheeked women".
