I ask because tomorrow, with my regulars not available to go with me to the game, I'm thinking I might go solo.

If it comes to that, just wondering whether there's anyone here in the cheer squad who might know a way for me to sit with my Melbourne brethren without having the Membership?

I'm part of the cheer squad, but I don't know how it works down there mate. Thinking Tas (tasmanlvr) might be able to help though...

Because it's an away game you'll be able to sit in the bays directly next to the cheer squad Show Some Fight, all the way down to the front row. I'll be there tomorrow, I think I will be sitting to the right of thr cheer squad as I'll have a Richmond supporting mate with me, about four or five rows back.

I'm not sure if it's going to work that way exactly, as there might be reserved seating (I'm not sure if that's going to happen tomorrow) but if there's no reserved seating you should be fine as it's generally general admission.

Edit: just checked MCG, yes it is general admission. I reckon as the Richmond faithful will be out get there early tomorrow.

The Demon Army let me and my 2 boys sit in the cheer squad area with them during the NAB Cup match against St Kilda. They're very accommodating to their fellow supporters and I had a great time with them.

How does one approach and ask them without running into a security guard?

You don't have to approach a security guard, they generally don't have any security guards looking for memberships at the aisles.
So just go into the bay next to the cheer squad and then head across?
