Watched the DVD with the FiveAA (Adelaide radio) commentary yesterday. The bias early on in the game is quite hilarious, along with the dude that gets very excited and yells out "strike me pink!" all the time..

Go to JB Hifi, they had it a week ago.. not sure why youd go anywhere else for DVDs anyway...

Does the DVD have all the immediate post match stuff on it? I mean the stuff prior to the medals ceremony, like the on-ground interviews with whoever was boundary riding for channel 10.

I've only watched the replay once, and Fox Sports cut all that out to fit it in to 2.5 hours or something.

Can't wait to buy the one with all 3 finals matches :thumbsu:

I haven't bought one yet as I am looking for the multiple commentary one. But before you call me a traitor I do have a dvd recorder and have every game for this season including the GF. So I have watched it about half a dozen times since we won.

A mate told me today the DVD release has alternate commentary where they've added all the radio broadcasts separately - 3AW, ABC, SEN etc. Not exactly sure who's in there but it would certainly give you a different perspective.
It has K-Rock,MMM,3AW and 5AA
There's no ABC or SEN

You can flick between all 4 stations and the ch10 commentary while the game is on.

Yeah, have watched it with Channel 10 and Triple M commentary. I still have to watch it with 3AW, K-Rock and 5AA still.

BTW, The AFL shop at highpoint has many copies of the second release. (multiple commentary)

I can't find the version with alternate commentaries anywhere.... anyone know if it has been released yet?
I hear the alternate commentaries are available at Dick Smith, but i ordered mine online today and i can not freaking wait to watch with different commentary. It will kinda be like watching it for the first time...again :D

Try Sanity music stores. Thats where I found the multi commentary one.

It has:

Channel 10
Triple M
3AW
K-Rock
5AA

I've got copies of the two games we played Collingwood during the year.

They are bloody awesome to watch. Still get worked up at the umpires!

I love how every now & again the GF replay is on Fox, so you decide, "yeah righto, I better watch that".

You know when a movie comes on free to air that you've seen a thousand times, and you just have to watch it, yet you'll have the DVD there at the same time, but won't play it!
It's sort of like that with the GF replays on Fox for me. It's different & better somehow.

Maybe because you know there are like minded Cats supporters all over the country watching the game with you again? We win again!! Woohoo.

hehheh, yeah could be.

No matter how many times I watch it, I still get the shivers when that final siren goes. It's worth watching just for that moment.
My favourite part of the game at the moment is from about 10 minutes to go in the first quarter (when we start looking dangerous) until Nablett kicks his two in two minutes half way in the sencond quarter. The game goes from being in the balance to blown to the shizenhousen in very quick time. The best passage of play during this time is out of the Ottens chase and the passage of play that results in the Bartel goal.

Gold mate - it's GOLD MATE!!!!

The Otten's chase is the greatest chase ever!

It's just perfect the way he just lunges to get him, right on the boundary in front of the crowd.

"BAAALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL"

*slight pause*

"YEAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH"

You just can't beat a good holding the ball.

I've gone back to the start of the season and am working my way through the year. Currently up to the first Port game.

I have tried to get the commentary DVD here in Perth but I am lucky to find any version of the game. One sanity store looked at me quite oddly & commented that they wouldn't ordering it in but they do have plenty of eagles ones from last year............idiot!

Does anyone know if the Victory Pack will have the alternate commentaries on it, or will it only be the Channel Ten crew?

My wife has ordered it for my birthday (woohoo), but I'm wondering whether or not to get the commentary one as well.

Also, NO, I'm not sick of the game yet. Recorded on HDD, and take a look whenever I can, particularly the end of the first and the second quarter.

A bloke posted on here a week or so ago that the Victory Pack grand final disk will not have the alternate commentaries (can't remember his name but he listed what versions will be out and when). I've bought the alternate commentaries GF and when I get the Victory Pack one I'll just put it with that and have the other one as a backup.

EDIT:

GFC MAD! said:
Heres some informarion I am led to believe is correct:

Sunday 30/9/07 - GRAND FINAL DVD first release [Channel 10 commentary only]

Thursday 4/10/07 - GRAND FINAL DVD second release [Channel 10, MMM, KRock, 3AW commentary]
[This release will be identified by looking on the BACK of the DVD packaging where it will state that the game has multiple commentaries. Be sure to check this as it will probably be mixed up on the shelves with the first release]

Monday 5/11/07 - GEELONG 2007 SEASON HIGHLIGHTS release

Monday 5/11/07 - GEELONG CATS VICTORY PACK released [Featuring Qualifying Final, Preliminary Final and Grand Final all with just the Channel 10/7 commentary, and the season highlights DVD]

So - I'm gonna buy 2 of those - The Grand final DVD with multiple commentaries, plus the victory pack.

Everytime i watch it i still yell at the tv

"take a bow now tredrea you ****n wanker" and "Cmon Cornes bet your gonna goose step your way back to SA empty handed now"

How sad
LOL. I do exactly the same thing. I was half hoping Cornes was going to goose step all the way back to the goal line after giving away the 50m penalty in the last quarter too. :p

Have been reading all your comments daily, but not actually said anything till now. How can one get sick of the DVD. I have watched it twice after being at the game. There is so much you miss during the game. Also I can remember for many years being in tears thinking we should have been there. Well now we've done it so I am going to enjoy watching it on and off till the season begins.
We have waited so long its going to be a long party.
I know what you mean. Wasn't until the 5th or 6th time I watched that I noticed Nathan pick up some of the blue and white confetti after the game and try and stuff it down the back of Chappy's jumper. :p

I got the radio one in Northland this morning from HMV for $35. I have it on 3AW at the moment. The fat lady sings early in the 2nd. Haha.
8 minute mark to be exact. :thumbsu:

Just a query. Has anyone ever watched the Round 6 game and the grand final back-to-back? Looks pretty much like the same game. :p
