FINALLY ... the deal is done!!
(thought it deserved its own thread)

Port Adelaide joins Crows, SANFL in reaching new Oval revenue sharing agreement

March 10, 2015 4:18 PM

Port Adelaide will earn a greater share of revenue from its home game days at Adelaide Oval in 2015 and beyond.

A new agreement has been reached that will see Port Adelaide earn a greater share of revenue generated by its home game days and inventory sales at the Adelaide Oval in 2015 and beyond. The model agreed to at the Oval on Tuesday will see an extra $3.1 million shared between the Power and Crows this season, increasing to $4.1 million in 2016 and 2017.

Importantly, the new deal will see Port Adelaide have the opportunity to earn greater revenue through driving higher attendances. Port Adelaide had one of the AFL's highest home game attendance averages in 2015, including posting two South Australian AFL attendance records.

Included in the deal with both the Power and Crows is the provision by the SANFL of additional reserved seating income and coporate inventory opportunties and incentives for playing home finals at the venue.

More to come...

the biggest things i read

"Port Adelaide had a $4.3 million uplift in 2014, compared to the previous model at AAMI Stadium"

"If we maintain our 2014 attendances and corporate uptake at the Adelaide Oval, we will benefit from a further $1.5 million uplift in 2015 and $2 million in 2016 and 2017."

Is there any idea of when we might hear an official announcement?

Hopefully the deal continues to improve for the AFL clubs each time another review comes around, as the SANFL continues to become more irrelevant and lose its power.

I think you need to seek help for that Official Announcement Disorder of your...
Replace 'Official Announcement' with 'Press Conference' - Theres been so much carry on about AO, an article on the Port Website feels like such an anticlimax.. kinda like being dumped via sms.. :p

Good to know the SANFL are still going to make a massive profit...
So.....do we get a slice of AAMI when the $ANFL sell it??
Seeing as we were a major part of the income stream which contributed to it being built in the first place, or is it for the big clubs like West Torrens and South??
