The free to air coverage has never been better. It deserves a great crop of commentators to put the cherry on top. Unfortunately the generic commentators who have no insight into tennis tactics are pathetic to say the least.

Before transitioning to the Djokovic match Hamish managed to shoehorn Kyrgios's name in between Roger, Rafa, and Novak.....

The way he did it was weird he said Kyrgios instead of Nick (Obviously because a sane person would ask Nick who ?) - gotta shoehorn the Aussie in between the world class names. Kyrgios doesn't deserve the adulation yet, gotta win slams before being mentioned in the same breath as the better players.

hes miles below there level, if he can play a good consistent year this year, win a few titles and have NO stupid court tantrums, no off field crap than he might be knocking on the door of the top 10, maybe in 2 years we can put him up as a grand slam champion but he has lots to prove yet

We have the match of the tournament and they broadcast it for five minutes without barely acknowledging it to begin with.

Also, don't get me started with the two muppets in Hamish and Basil who know shit all about the sport and essentially wing it for two weeks.

I prefer listening to Jason Bennett and Peter Donegan. At least they're calm and reserved and show some ounce of knowledge on the sport and take things seriously, so I respect that as a viewer.

Peter Donegan's knowledge of tennis is appalling. However because he is more professional than Hamish and Basil can disguise this better. As someone with a bit of insight into the game though I really struggle to listen to him.

I'm assuming Lleyton is prioritising his role as Davis Cup Captain for the moment. As soon as his commitments wind down I'm assuming and hoping he'll work alongside Jim.

I was watching on the app so I wasn't aware, but when 7 crossed to the Karlovic match did they have commentary? If so, would they just have been phoning it in from the monitors as it (obviously) wasn't a televised match?

They need to have more variety with the "classic matches" on 7Two once the live play is completed every night. Past few years we've been given a treat of matches from the 2000's. They should delve more into the archives of the 80's and 90's.

I gather they don't do this as much because of the KIA sponsorship ? Not a good look to have coverage with the old Ford boards from the old footage.
