It seems like there are more promo's/plugs than there is live tennis. It's 45 minutes since the Del Potro game finished and they are yet to mention the result.

Disgraceful - I saw the score on Sports Tonight on one (they were more informative than 7's "coverage"). The game wasn't over yet and expected to hear the final result. I fell asleep waiting, endless waffle from Johanna Griggs, more ads.........pathetic.

It seems every time i turn on the tv it is womens tennis... womens tennis is an absolute heap of steaming sh*t. Iwant to see some decent mens matches, where they actually hit the ball 'hard', we havent even had the opportunity to watch half the top mens players.

The apparent "truth" came out today in the Herald Sun.

Basically up to this year, both Fox and Seven have negotiated directly with Tennis Australia in regards to coverage rights.

But this year, TA sold the whole package to Seven, who then turned around and asked fox to pay something in the range of double what they paid last year, and also offered them less access/coverage then last year.

No wonder foxtel told them to **** off.

When you think about it though, 7 give us far more coverage than any other FTA network would. There's no way Ch9 or 10 would give up their shows to show us over 12 hours a day of tennis.

Then again if it was on Nein, it would also be on FoxSports for sure, pleasing those that have PayTV.

I guess Ten would be able to use ONE to show the outside courts. But imo they wouldn't give up their prime time shows.

Nah, One would only simulcast because of the Anti-Siphoning list.

But come 2013 or whenever it is the rules change, I would hope Seven would utilise their digital channels to start showing outside courts.

And how f**ken long until FTA gets a Red Button? The BBC have it in the UK, so why can't we pick and choose yet. Hopefully not too long...

In fairness, their coverage was supposed to finish at 3pm anyway, so I'm just glad they showed the end of Hewitt.

Channel 9 actually had it around 5 years ago for the cricket where you could luck at stats and stuff. It would be awesome if it was used by 7.

It's funny that we're the host nation yet we've probably got some of the worst coverage in the world.

Anyone know why they are advertising both Clijsters and Nadal for tomorrow night's session? According to the AO website, both play at the same time on different courts. Surely 7 won't show one match live and the other delayed? Surely?
