Pathetic shit channel seven.. ****ing disgrace.

IIrc, once upon a time the old channel 7 would drop its news and however long the tennis went.. it would stay on.

Or was i just imagining things??? I honestly thought seven were great and channel 9 were the w***ers always dropping the cricket, etc....


I think I might just give that number a call....

PS. PUT LECONTE IN THE COMMENTATORS BOX YOU ****WITS.
 
i guess the saving grace for us is that becasue the Roddick/Cilic game went longer the rafa/andy game will be pushed back (need an hour between day and night sessions to get everyone in and out) so it may start after 7.30 :D

At least 9 don't leave the coverage at 5:57pm to then play 3 minutes of ads of who is 'sponsoring' the coverage. They usually go straight to the news.

As for Tennis Aus, they won't ever criticise 7 because if they do, they threaten the coverage and the money.

The poor ratings are saying it all - and they are probably getting creamed by the cricket now.

Totally ****ed. I think I'm pretty much done with this thread because the same shit keeps happening and I can't find the words to express my outrage at this consistent and repeated assraping of great matches.
 
have called in and made a complaint to a nice kid named Josh. Told him about how disgusted i am about how tennis fans are treated, how disgusting it is that they bought the rights off fox sports so we cant watch any tennis, and how they cut off in the middle of the match. Anything i missed?

Should have asked him if there was any chance we will get to see the mens and womens finals without having to endure an interruption ie. an ep of Home and Away. Or Today Tonight. :rolleyes:

You left out all the ads for upcoming shows no one will watch, and mindless 'personalities' like Joanna Griggs taking up way too much air time. And too many slow mos and KIA hot shots..........I think that is about it.

Sorry about that. I doubt that they will even care about what I had to say, it's like a kid fighting town hall. The only way something will happen is if lots of people that share the same sentiments as me (which i know all of you do) call up and tell them what you think. I guess if anything, it is probably of more value then writing about it on a bigfooty forum.
 
Wont defend Ch.7 as i dont have that picture of Chewbacca with me ATM but their news and H&A was the top 3 programs last night. The top one was a Aussie playing the number player in the night session, but i reckon that could be down to the fact an Aussie was playing. What needs to happen is that 2nd channel of theirs should be able to show these games which go overtime. They, cant, Government rules, really outdated now. Still, they brought the rights, they didnt allow anyone else to broadcast the event, and with those rights, they have an obligation to show the sport. They didn't, Ch7:thumbsdown:

Also personally, F U Channel 7, i was really enjoying that match, and ruined the drama for me u bastards. :mad:

I like sport on FTA, as sports in general, i reckon, suffer cause not everyone has PayTV, but they really need to fix the rules to allow multi digital TV use, as well as a "use it, lose it policy." If you buy the rights, you obligation to show it. That should include all the courts/sports which has a TV camera in them, live.

Sports organisations also have an obligation(like the word) to do the best for their sport, and i reckon watching 5th sets are the best parts of tennis, so they have failed in this as well. So many of them choose money over coverage. Its a shame.

What happened this year was Tennis Australia sold the exclusive rights to Channel 7, as in past years TA had done all the deals with both Fox and 7 before the tournament started as to what each would be allowed to show.

While Channel 7's coverage has been shithouse at times, Tennis Australia are as much to blame for selling them the exclusive rights without including Fox in the discussion.

Apparently 7 then turned to fox, offering them less coverage then they had in previous years at double the price, although 7 didn't know how much fox had paid previously as they had paid TA and not 7.

Over all it was a big **** up by TA that will hopefully be fixed next year.

I don't care what anyone says, Channel 7 are ruining this tournament. I wish I was still in Melbourne because I'm sick of having to rely on the incompetent Channel 7 to follow the Australian Open.

What's the bet they'll still have a massive preview for the Nadal game even though it started 15 minutes ago? :rolleyes: I feel sick, all I want is LIVE tennis, is that really too much to ask for? You could have gone STRAIGHT to the Nadal game instead you replay a match you RUINED for the viewer by going to the news. I'm so full of anger right now, I'm going to explode.
