Yet people want free to air coverage. I am sorry but you show games live. You work your news AROUND major events. You do not need ACA and H&A during a major event. 7 screw up fans by not allowing Fox some coverage and to make things WORSE we have them show bits and pieces of matches and the matches we see are some Aussie useless player getting smashed..yet on MCA we have a 5 set thriller!
 
As I've said before, I can actually "cope" with 7 or any channel going to a 30 minutes news service during an event that is going to last a few hours.

What I can't cope with is showing a gossip style TV show followed by a ****ing soap instead of the best Tennis tournament, and arguably the best sporting event we have in this country.

Channel 7, you have let me down for the last time, from now till next year, all I'm watching on your ****ing money hungry, bullshit channel is sport, and that's also because I don't have a choice.

Nah, because without him, Channel 7 would be even worse off than with him.

He's the only good that comes from watching 7s coverage.

When do the rights go up next for the AO?

****wits gone into delay in SA again. If the match was going into a fifth we would still get in delay.

Yeah, the commercial stations are pretty clear on the fact that the news is untouchable, so I guess you can accept it. But I mean, there's no excuse for Today Tonight and Home and Away.

Why couldnt they just do a quick fifteen or twenty minute bulletin? Keep everyone happy.
 
The eurosport commentators were actually worse than JA :eek:

I understand why they aren't showing this live, i would rather see more of the match as there is going to be a break between the two matches anyway.

What the joke was cutting to news, TT and H&A and missing out on the tennis.

For all saying that they want seven to lose the tennis rights, it ain't happening, and nor do i want, this amount of FTA exposure is great for the sport.

They gave the pin to Leconte to wear on his damn hoodie. It is the same pin which Hamish Mclachlan wears with pride which makes me hate him.

Or half an hour. Go to the news straight after the match (don't worry about the interviews), and then come back 5 minutes late (after the warmup). You don't miss any tennis. I could cope with missing an interview or a warmup!

Exactly, atleast with channel 9 they ditch ACA when they have the cricket on, so we may only miss an over or 2. Only problem if Ch9 were to get the rights is what would they do when the cricket is on the same night.

At least Eurosport don't miss 1.5 HOURS of coverage. They may commentate horribly, but at least they show the tennis. I don't want 7 to lose the coverage, but if they are going to break for 1.5 hours, then give it to 10 who will do a better job!
 
Actually, credit to 9. On Friday night they went straight to the cricket, and same with last night. Previous years they would put ACA on and then the cricket.

I have run out of insults for 7's coverage.........is there any sport they can cover without stuffing it up?

People don't understand that 7 pay a lot of money for the open, TA and no one else are going to just give the rights to someone else. Considering the amount of hours is shown on FTA, TA would be happy with their relationship, helps the sport here.

Hard to compare a station in Europe that's all sport and a Australain FTA network

If they pay money..then here is a radical idea..SHOW THE TENNIS not some soapy rubbish or some talkback rubbish about weight loss! I cap cop the news, everyone can. But to show the other trash just annoys me and most others on here. If they want to miss 1.5 hours, then I hope they lose the rights, or put it on Channel 72 when they go to their news programs. There are solutions.

They can do 30 minutes if they are smart anyway. It is a mandatory 20 minte break on RLA. It is 5 minutes for the interview, it is 10 minutes from when the players walk out for the next match and the first ball. That is 35 minutes.
 
You know you wake up and it is a new day and you think, things might be better today. Maybe channel 7 will show a full match of mens tennis, maybe they wont show TT or H & A if there is a match going on, maybe they wont try and act like a match is live and show the last 8 games, maybe they will show some respect to viewers, maybe they will cover the biggest sporting event this country has with decent coverage, maybe they will get rid of rubbish commentators, maybe they will stop flogging their crap shows, maybe they will show the first few points of a new set, instead of extending their ad break, maybe they will get rid of Griggs, maybe will listen to what the people want...........................

But then you wake up from that dream and think oh ****, I have to put up with that horrendous TV network again today. How will they ruin my day today????
