oh heven forbit and AUSTRALIAN station should show Australian matches to an Australian Audience first - I mean im sure American stations wouldnt show American matches into America of French stations show French players into france first....as if they'd do a stupid thing like that :rolleyes::rolleyes:

there are worse things 7 do with the coverage IMHO such as delaying matches, not comming back from adds in time, stopping coverage half way through matches etc.

Thank goodness for foxtel really....:)

Bullshit, they should be showing the best game not, not player 300 in the world just because they are Australian, thats what Foxtel is for, to show the lower quality matches.

Damn i just had a look at that tennistv (official ATP tournament stream) for $20 for the month and thought beauty.

Then the catch in the fine print is that coverage won't be available of home country tournaments. Gay.

If a service like that was available people would use it. Yet we have to put up with seven hoarding the rights and serving up shite.

U have got it the wrong way around. Fox sports lives on people like who, who love there sport and are willing to pay for the best of it.

Seven tires to get the highest TV ratings possible. This involves the ordinary Aussie, who doesnt care about Tennis that much, and love watching Sport involving an Aussie. An Aussie 300 world ranked would rate higher than a match involving a 20th ranked dude v a 40th ranked dude.

perfectly acceptable TBH.

For all the bad mouthing of Seven, they do show a lot of Tennis Before and during the Open, which is great for a commercial free-to-air TV station. (even if the way they show it is way below par)
Other sports(and Opens) are not that lucky.

tennistv.com doesn't include the slams.

this is 100% true

here is one of the ads for 7 during the tennis this year

"after the tennis finishes we have this new for everyone to see. we have to tell you it's great to make the dumb public watch it. but deep down we think it's rat shit"

haha and then when they come back, the commentator (Woodbridge or whoever) has to be like, "desperate housewives is totally exciting this year"

It's annoying when it's done at the expense of a far better match, especially when it's women's at the expense of men's.
Besides which Aussies are you that keen to watch? We don't have any good players, besides Stosur, and she plays women's tennis which - let's be honest - is far inferior to men's tennis.

Lol so true. Tsonga, Murray, Djokavic or Monfils is playing, nah, let's watch Dellacqua.

We get to see Williams, Federer, Nadal, or a bunch of Aussies. Here's hoping Hewitt goes first round so we dont have to waste time watching him again.

Also, am I the only person who couldnt care less for women's tennis?

If the AO didn't even include women's tennis, I wouldn't miss it at all

i hope 7 gives it in hd

on 7 mate they should show the open night session live to the states who have the delay.

The new anti-siphoning laws have not been approved yet (They have to wait 'till the pollies return to Canberra). So they still can't show stuff on digital channels.

But even if they could I doubt they would. Look at Nine. They gave up on HD cricket because The Nanny repeats or Ellen are more important.

they need to show it in hd. the government tells us go out buy HDTV and when we do they cut out most of hd stuff.

like the cricket. gem advertised it was going to be in hd. it wasn't. if the stations don't want to show it in hd. show it on foxtel in hd live. the cricket was hd in fox sports highlights every night.

watching cricket in sd is pathetic on a big screen.

Jeeze, I can't believe you guys. HD sport is only what, five years old? Already anything else is pathetic and you can't live without it.

God knows how you'd have survived growing up in the 60s.

Anywhere else in the developed world show every single sporting event in HD and have been for years.

I can live without HD and have done for a few years up until recently. But seriously, Australia is in the technological dark ages because of the commericla stations (Mainly Nine and Seven) having no interest in showing sport in HD, and the government showing little interest in forcing them to.

Well yeah, but it's not like SD is the end of the world. HD is just a bit of extra sharpness to the picture, honestly if I'm engrossed in a match I scarcely notice the difference.

Your TV isn't a high enough resolution then, because their is a massive difference between watching an NBA or NFL game on ONE HD, then changing over to watching SD tennis on Seven, or The Ashes on Nine.

If Channel 7's coverage of the Brisbane International is anything to go by, I hold little hope of seeing any improvement in the AO telecast from last year's abomination.

What sort of TV network returns to a sporting match (on more than one occasion) when the action has already started? This occurred throughout the tournament. Ad break would end and the score would already be 0-15 or even in one case, 40-0.

It's not good enough. Sports fans shouldn't have to put up with this shit from a broadcaster that apparently prides itself on sports coverage.

I have a 37in full HD Panasonic Viera LCD.

I know there is a difference, I am just saying that I don't really notice it when I am engrossed in watching something. When I'm watching the game, I'm watching the game. I'm not thinking "gee the edges on the picture are just so fuzzy".

I just don't understand how anyone who grew up watching the analog broadcast of the cricket on a tiny CRT TV could possibly get so bent out of shape about the difference between SD and HD digital. HD is a nice little extra, but... meh.
