Well, we all whack Seven for abandoning sport for news, but tennis currently on 7TWO.

This is great.

WE ARE IN THE FUTURE.

As per previous years, night sessions shown on a half hour delay in Adelaide.
Meanwhile an old British drama is being shown on 7TWO.

WE ARE STILL IN THE PAST

...yes I realise people already think this way of Adelaide

they aren't really. because they still have terrible commentators. bruce and sandy and todd woodbridge. they are still flogging rubbish shows and they still have untalented morons in the hosts spot

and

when they say they would put it on another channel, they didn't. so it's the same rubbish as usual from 7

Tiny, baby steps for Seven. My post was somewhat in jest considering we dont have multi-court coverage or even HD, but it's an upgrade.

Look at it this way, this time last year we were taking an hour and a half break for news, TT and H&A.

Really, if one doesn't have Foxtel to watch sport why would one bother having it at all?

I can't answer that as i havn't really been a Foxtel viewer for the last few years was really addicted to it from 99 - through to the mid 00's and would watch anything on fox8, comedy channel and a few other shows on odd networks. Prior to losing the package, the sports channels were all i watched on Foxtel.

At least there's no more JA and Tracy Austin.

Personally I like Todd.

Leconte is just annoying on any serious match. His over-exuberance is funny for about five minutes, but he adds nothing in terms of analysis and can't shut up when the points are being played.

Has Leconte commentated yet?
Apparently he was commentating yesterday. Hopefully there's a couple of 5th setters with Tsonga he can commentate. :p

They can't make the same mistake they made last year however and let him commentate a RLA match. I thought Jim Courier was going to punch him last time.

Deservedly - save him for the mixed doubles final or some equivalent match.

Agree, he should only be wheeled out during the 5th set of a match, added bonus if one OR both players are players who hit winners from spectacular angles.

The first appearance was comedy gold, couldn't really be replicated from then on though.

Epic fail in the ratings - night session only got 489,000 people (number 1 show had 1.2 million.

19 Australian Open 2011 – Night 1 Seven 489,000 138,000 172,000 81,000 53,000 45,000

The day session ranked 29, with 328,000. The numbers will increase as the tournament goes on but those figures say a lot.

Lol at people complaining about Tracy Austin, Tracy Austin > Rennae Stubbs. We're only at day 2 and I'm so sick of her (mostly when she commentates Aussies). Cannot handle it.:mad:
I want Tracy Austin back :p

Getting sick of this chopping and changing of matches, pick ONE match and stick with it through to it's conclusion.

And LOL @ Jo Grigg's saying "let's return to the tiebreak" yet the third & deciding set of the women's matches are not decided by a "tie break".
Unless you're in America, but we all know America is shit. ;)

Disagree.

The Safina and Clijsters match is a bust so why not go to a tight match? Although, I was enjoying watching Clijsters destroy Safina. Clijsters and Henin are/were my favourite female players to watch.
