Don't know what Channel 7 see in her? I read on The Age website late last year that she was giving up sports presenting and was hopeful she would not be hosting the tennis this year! I take it she used to host the sport during the nightly news in Sydney?
^She's been presenter for years though so you'd think she'd be experienced enough not to make so many routine errors that any half hearted tennis fan would know are absolutely not the case.
The lack pronouncing surnames correctly is one thing that's driving me nuts (probably because I have a foreign surname myself). I'm not saying they should automatically know how to pronounce a Polish surname or something, but FFS you're sposed to be covering the sport properly go and ask someone how to pronounce their bloody names. Its just disgraceful when you hear the comentator clearly pronouncing the name differently to the ump. You'd think they'd cotton on....

That's one thing I really admire about Bruce McAvaney. He's a boring commentator because he lacks detailed knowledge and insight on the sport, but full credit to him, he does meticulous research for every job he takes on.

I agree about Hamish. There is something about him. He just seems so smug and arrogant like he thinks he is top s**t. He could be a great bloke, but I cannot stand him. Hate the fact he is hosting the tennis. Looks like someone who would not even be interested in tennis if he wasn't working for 7.
Ch7 has improved it's coverage this year... the highlight was when they kept the tennis going on 7two when it was 6pm.
Fox Sports is excellent, only disappointment is their commentators and no red button on HD channel.

Why can they put it on 7Two during the news, but not show another match on there during the regular coverage?

We miss the last game of the second set and come back 30-30 in the first game of the 3rd. I know this match is ****ing terrible, but 7 just the usual pathetic-ness you'd expect from this disgraceful network.

That was before I heard Hamish on. The coverage is going downhill and fast.
sorry, no they haven't they are still missing the first point of every set because of having ad breaks that go longer than they should and they still have idiots in the hostis chair

I still don't get it tho. Wasn't the rule put in place because not everyone has access to the other channels? Yet, it doesn't matter when the news is on.

First time I flicked over to channel 7 and just want to commend them on their top work, both for the delayed telecast and the spoilers
It was on last night? Don't I look quite the fool. As mentioned I don't follow the tennis a great deal and was under the assumption it was live.
My mistake.
They have been givien permission to relax the rules during the news if a match is running overtime. They can't show matches at any other time on the secondary channels.
