How much money do the arses at channel 7 have?
Problem is they get the rights and serve up absolute trash coverage. That Megawall crap was started during the tennis coverage dunno if anyone noticed it. Except it actually worked in some ways because they showed other courts action going around. It was like an around the grounds segment.
With the footy it does not work at all.
In regard to Wimbledon Channel 9 didnt exactly treat it well so i cant see channel 7 doing much worse. Although they could delay matches by a couple of hours and i wouldnt put that past them.

Anyone see Mediawatch tonight?

Shows Foxsports crossing to a Stosur match last week early in the second set even though the match had ended an hour earlier. They never said it was a replay or delayed, so anyone watching would have assumed it was live. Indeed, the live icon was on the screen.

Yeah, Fox Sport's coevrage of the French always is often pretty poor. They're too cheap to send over camera's so we rarely see Australia's play live (not that I have an issue with this normally, but Stosur at the French is an exception). Of course as it turned out Stosur bombed out early, but we didn't even see her 2R match, other than the last game, and that's when everyone thought she could win.

The commentators talked about it as if they were crossing live as well. Pretty scummy behaviour.

That's worse than what ch 9 did, at least ch 9 is free. To pay for that is disgraceful. They should at least say that the feed is from Eurosport and this is the match they're showing right now, we'll replay the other match later. Foxtel are scum. The funny thing is when this happened last time it was Stosur as well.

Eurosport have red button where you can choose which match that you want to watch. The outside courts have no commentators, just the court side microphones Obviously foxtel have just purchased the main feed and subscribers have to cop whichever match the host broadcaster determines the most watchable for their audience.

I think Fox Sports coverage has been pretty good. Honestly I have/had no interest in Stosur or Women's tennis so the less of that the better. Anyway, it's not like Channel 7 or 9 would do a better job. If anyone was up at 4am last night, when they crossed to the Bartoli vs. Kuznetsova game they did take the "LIVE" part off.

I think just Fox Sports and 7TWO.

But I'm sure once we get to the Quarter Finals, then Channel 7 will put it on it's main channel.

Commentators are Todd Woodbridge, John Newcombe, Sam Smith & Renanee Stubbs. While, they will be also be using BBC commentators from time to time.

Apart from Newcombe this sounds like decent coverage, along with Foxtel, should be great.

Apart from constantly saying people should serve and volley more often, i think Newcombe is fine. Stubbs on the other hand is horrible! Sam Smith is very good also.

Rennae Stubbs is bad when she's commentating Aussies, when she was commentating a match of Stosur's at AO I actually turned the sounds off. Apart from that she's ok.

Also 7 are gonna be airing Wimbledon documentaries on Sudndays at 11 am until it starts. I never thought I'd say this but I'm actually really pleased with them. Hopefully they look at getting RG and USO in time as well.

Is anyone else struggling to see the scoreboard? Orange was a dumb idea. Not to mention the player stat bios they show whilst they're warming up are too small. Although ch 7's coverage has improved heaps over the last year so I probably shouldn't complain.

The scoreboard, bio's, score updates, everything is on the small side. The graphics look more modern but I'm not a huge fan. The orange looks okay, but the white text in the orange is hard to read and would look a lot better black.

I like the look, it's not too small, needed a change. They have improved on their coverage especially from a couple of years back.

Tennis gets reamed by every broadcaster basically.

It's the perfect sport for internet streaming.

I have a tennis tv account, but obviously they don't have the rights to the grand slams and they black out brisbane/sydney. People will pay if they set it up at a reasonable price. No doubt the internet rights for the tournaments not covered by tennis tv are sold as a stocking filler to the tv networks, then they on sell them to muppets like Telstra who hog the rights and don't offer a viable service. Bah.

I dont really have any complaints from todays coverage. Just got a question. I notice 7TWO are showing Kooyong and Sydney aswell. Will they also have rights to AO?

Yeah Seven TWO are showing the AO live into states that usually get it delayed.

I think they are doing the same as they did at Wimbledon where they start it live on TWO and then move it over to Seven later.
