Hey guys, just got Foxtel and was wondering what the tennis coverage is like. Looking back at the old threads I assume the 1000 matches are on ESPN?

What about the other slams, women's matches and the 500 and 250's? Also non Australian Davis Cup matches.

Cheers.

Aus Open - Live coverage of Days 1-8 outside of RLA. Replays of everything else late at night.
French Open - Exclusive Live coverage of the whole tournament. Although they just use the world feed (which is one of the laizest productions around, if you thought seven was bad, this is worse).
Wimby - Send their own team for live coverage up till the quarterfinals on whatever Seven is not showing. Does have 2 exclusive quarterfinals for the men's and women's. shows replay so of semis and final.
US open - Sends their own team and has exclusive live coverage of the whole tournament. I actually really enjoy thier US Open coverage.
Masters 1000 - All live on ESPN (or ESPN2 if it cashes with something) and they show coverage all week. Use the good world feed and have tended to show Aussie matches if they are on an outside court when that happens on a rare occassion
500 events - QF's onwards are live on ESPN
250 events - Really depends on the event, if they are shown it will be shown on Fox Sports and usually from the QF onwards. Tournaments like San Jose, Munich, Halle, Newport, Stockholm were shown but there were a few missing but the only really noticeable one is Queen's. Really have to check your guides on this one. Eurosport has occasionally shown men 250 events as well such as Eastbourne and Auckland
Women's Premier events - This has been an issue for tennis fans for the last few months as Eurosport did show them last year and mainly from the start of the event. But now it seems they have dropped their coverage. At the moment it loosk like that Fox Sports will only show the semis and final of certain WTA premeir events. For example, doesn't look they are showing Paris indoors the week after AO but they will be showing Doha from Feb 17-18. So check gudies on what they show but it doesn't look like a whole lot.
Davis Cup ties - They tend to show one tie a DC week either live or slightly delayed. Usually one of the better ties of the weekend. They have live coverage of the final.

Ok silly thing to worry about now, but why is it now "jokeavich"? Did Novak not stress it was "jokavich"? Ridiculous.
I put it down to Bruce asking Jim how he pronounces it, and Jim said Jokeavich. Before that he always said Jockavitch.
Happened either last night or the night before.

Quality call from the Fox assistant/intern that commentates with Wally most of the time (Nick someone) in the Berdych-Anderson tiebreaker last night

With the score at 11-all
"This has been a sensational tiebreaker! Can you believe since 6-all they have traded points!"

Yeah, don't know why they shafted Adam peacock this weekend on fox sports, actully one of the few "hosts" that knows what he is talking about and seems like a fan. Always enjoy his and Masur's analysis at the slams.

Has the night session been put back 30 minutes to accommodate Home and Away or is it just a coincidence?

Been like this in the 2nd week for a few years now, tends to be only one night session match anyway in the 2nd week.

So bassall spent the last ten minutes telling us to hang around for Henri lacontes interview with Tsonga, then as soon as the match is finished they cut to highlights from last night.

He covers soccer on the weekend over on Fox Sports 1.

Did anyone catch this hum dinger a couple of days ago? Seven just threw this interlude in while I was watching with a couple of mates and at the end of it all three of us looked at each other in silence and shook our heads.

I'd call it filler but that wouldn't even go close to doing it justice. Just listen to Hamish try to fill in the last 25 seconds I've never heard anything like it.

Is anyone else slightly annoyed at the announcement for upcoming matches on screen such as "The greatest takes on Australias best!" or "The great British hope Murray takes on big hitting Frenchman Chardy" etc.

Just have their name and their seeding ffs. It might be petty but another facet of 7's coverage that gets under my skin.

Sometimes it seems like Hamish is the graphics guy as well given some of the captions they come up with. Also what's with the so called 'nicknames'? They're not even nicknames, they're puns at best, and they're awful.
