Apache Cat vs The Hussler

Apache Cat and Weekend Hussler missed the races mentioned not because of each other but due to weight and future plans. My personal belief is that WH would beat him most of the time. However AC is an outstanding galloper and might just beat the worlds best.

AC missed the New Hcp because his weight was way too much for a horse that tries as hard as he does with his future targets in mind. He must go to Bris before he ventures overseas so a gut gutbuster for a horse that needs to be kept on the fresh side may have put his future goals at risk. Great training decision from Eurell.

WH missed the Donc Hcp with a combination of weight, his cups weight in mind and the fact they went to the well once too often in the spring.

If you owned or trained either of these two you dont dodge anyone!

It looks like he's not going overseas afterall. Last report is that he may go to Hong Kong in November. He's not going to Singapore, England or Japan.

They never went to the well too often. He won every race this prep (all group 1's). He didn't run so as to not penalize him too much in the cups primarily

Finally some sense from someone who actually knows what they are talking about. Was getting a little dismayed with the mindless rantings of racing novices. TAB mug punters who wouldnt know the head of a horse from its rear.

Which is probly why I talk on this forum. I'm sorry for not realising you had to be some kind of (alleged) big shot to post an opinion on this site, like you seem to think. We should be discussing the difference in our opinions, but you seem like your having more fun attacking the credentials of some of us. So lets get back on topic, or take your story elsewhere.

So maybe I stretched dodging a bit, but I'll stick to my guns, cause I still believe Apache dodged the race.

Please try to understand a post before you shoot your mouth off. McDonald is on record as saying they did go to the well once to often in the SPRING as I clearly said. I never said they did this prep in the AUTUMN. I said they were mindful this time as well as a cup weight issue. I love repeating myself.

Sorry mate, I misread your post and didn't notice the word "spring" somehow. I do agree they went to the well once too often in the spring.

Cheers :thumbsu:

Compare Husslers win against Magnus down the straight at Flemington, with the way The Cat knocked off Takeover Target and Magnus in Sydney.
He would be a massive show up to 1300.

Takeover Target was never going to win that race, he was like 20kg overweight. You could see how fat he was when he was running, they only used that race as a warm-up.

the cat would have to be favourite anywhere under the mile IMO. Treated rivals with discontempt today. Would love to see it race hussler or miss andretti for that matter. By the way does anyone know what is happening with andretti?

After her shit performance in the Goodwood, they are resting her till the spring.

I have heard they will giver her one run, and if she looks like she doesn't want to be there she will be retired.

A half fit Miss Andretti would have won the mares race in Adelaide (it wasn't the Goodwood) easily. She was half fit and was going to win it easy but Newitt let her drift into the quicksand which is the Morphettville rails and that was the end of her.
As much as I would love to see Apache and the Huss in Adelaide, you'd have to be mad to risk 'em at Morphettville.
For the record, I don't know which of the two would win from 1000 to 1400 but from 1500 on, the Huss would win and therfore, the Huss is a Champion - if you know what I mean ?
