After my topic, 'Who will win in round 1 of the Ansett Cup?!

Apologies should now come from all those people that selected Essendon over Port Adelaide.

Going through the list there were 17 people selecting Essendon to 4 going for Port.

Port won by 79 points, perhaps a little more respect should be given next time.

I seriously thought Port would win and I was right.

- Short message for Sabre as well, you made the comment that Port would lose because Port once again has a poor playing list. This from a Fremantle supporter?

Was it really necessary to start another thread on this, couldn't you have put this in one of the other hundred threads.
Apologise, why should anyone apologise for selecting the Bombers?
I have congratulated Port on their win, but I am not going to apologise for thinking we would win.

Sandie!

Why should I create another topic in someone elses topic?

I hate it when people do that, this is a completely separate topic.

Sabre!

Port are a much stronger side this year, how can you say we are not?

The recruitment of Darryl Wakelin has increased our defence when at times we could be seen as being a little short, our options are much bigger now.

Brendon Lade is back from a broken leg and will be a key up forward for us and is also a good ruckman, with three ruckmen playing we are going to stretch many teams this year.

Shane Bond returns from a knee injury to free up players like Wanganeen from defence. Also players like Stuart Dew and Bowen Lockwood will play for the whole season.

I am that confident that Ports side is better than Frematles this year that we will win every time we play you.

scott, i tipped port as I knew they are taking the ansett cup 100% seriously and want to win it. Port are a good team and will shut a few critics up this year including big mouthed joffa, and joffa look out because port will thrash your team of little pretenders when they play at footy park this year and I am going to rub it in to you so much !

Easty,

Ive noticed on a number of occassions that you leap to Port's defence, yet shoot them down on other occassions....My point, you have a habit of defending Port and at the same time glorifying them and their tradition and also warning people about how good they can be....Easty, Do you barrack for Port ?

Yeah, that Darryl Wakelin is a real gun. Brownlow prospect there

Maybe this year you migth actually win a match agaisnt the most unsuccessful side in VFL/AFL history - St.Kilda. You have NEVER beaten them, you know. Or North for that matter. You've beaten us (the Bombers) but we hold a 4-2 advantage.

Dan24!

You are really full of it aren't you!

At what point did I say he would win a brownlow medal?

All I said that he is going to be a good addition to our defence. Nothing more, nothing less.

And as I previously posted, I did mention that we have not beaten both Saint Kilda and the Kangaroos, so what?

In time it will happen, possibly this year.

I don't exactly know where you are coming from. But while you bring up the topic that we have been able to beat you twice, once in Adelaide and the other time in Melbourne, do you begin to wonder why you ever lost to us considering we can't beat a team like Saint Kilda?

Well we'll wait an see people. Just don't get to far ahead of yourselves.

I KNOW Wakelin won't win the Brownlow. I was being sarcastic. Couldn't you tell!!!

Look, one of the great things about footy is the bragging rights when your teams wins. I do it all the time when the mighty Bombers win, and I cop it when we lose. And I usually cop it pretty hard, especially at work. I don't mind. It'a all part of footy. So rub it in.....that's fine. But remember..... round 2 is only 5 weeks away!!!!

Dan,

I realise this post is a poor attempt to bait the Port Adelaide supporters but when you start to use the on-field history of the St Kilda Football Club to make your point, you are clutching at straws.
