Correct.....It's an ironic play on a main board thread.....Because Hawthorn has 3 of the Number 1 draft picks on it's list, from the past 15 seasons.

There are 18 clubs in the comp & Carlton is the only other with 3 number 1 draft picks on it's list.

Yet the premise that we've been ignoring the elite end of the draft, is made a mockery of, by this stat alone.

We also have 6 picks inside the Top 7, out of 105 from the past 15 seasons…..6 x 18 = 108.....So we're also batting above average there.

I hope the penny has now dropped.

Doesn't matter how we acquired them.....We've been targeting & landing players from the elite end of the draft.....all of O'Meara, Scully, Wingard, Scrimshaw, Patton, Frawley, Burgoyne & McEvoy are of the elite end of the draft.

Hawthorn has a minimum of 10 players from the elite end of the draft on it's list, currently. Which makes a mockery of Munk Borland's claims to the contrary….and here we have 2 posters utterly incapable of providing for anything even remotely resembling a sensible rebuttal....Because they can't.
