Carrazzo : Italian for 'Turnover'.

Love his efforts to turn himself into an AFL player but a really high-class performance from Carlton players around him last night just accentuated his poor disposal.

Obvious that his skills will just not stand up to finals pressure.

defintely agree with andy...he butchered the thing....so friggin what if he gets a heap of it???? time and time again, not just this game, he hands the ball back to opposition teams...very frustrating to watch.

Like a Formula One team on the rise, shouldn't we be looking to tweak and fine tune our side to get that extra 5-10%.

A couple of years ago we had no choice but to play honest toilers like Carrazzo - but now we can afford to lose 'ball-magnets' like him and replace him with more skilled players.

didnt you see the passes straight onto fevs chest ? far out, no player is going to have 100% effective disposals for a game. the higher possessions a player gets the more chance of a bad disposal.
some maths for you, if a player gets 10 touches at 80% it means only 2 disposals are bad, whereas if carrots gets 30 touches at 80% he stands out with 6 clangers. i'd rather he got 6 clangers with 16 more useful possies than the 10 possie player. he also does alot of work negating an oppositions player.
least in your thread you are talking bout his apples & not carrazzo's "cherry"...

ctacp
curlier than a catoggio pube

His disposal efficiency was 83%. Have no idea what game you were watching.

Carrazzo I've found has become a lot safer with his disposal. He knows he isn't a good kick and tends to play within his limitations, spotting up a short target rather than attempting a riskier pass.

Yep - the OP has apple pie on his face

And it is bewildering why he would want to make such a negative thread after such a win

Once again, people look for things that often aren't there. Carrots was in our top 6 for disposal efficiency last night. It's the same as the old Russell argument. You see a couple of glaring errors and assume that is the way their game went. The amount of times people would say that Russell turned it over every time he got it only to find he had 2 clangers and a decent efficiency percentage was astounding.

Don't trust your eyes when you are looking for someone to target, unless you are also looking out for the good.

The only situation where a player can look good but be bad is when they are not working without the ball.

But he hasn't played finals yet?

Does the OP forget the match winning efforts and crucial goals Carrots squard in the 3rd and 4th quarters against Freo to help turn the tide in our favour.

He has improved his disposal from 3/4 years ago IMHO no doubt ...

I think you've based that on a couple of turnovers, but overall Carrots did OK last night. His disposal efficiency was higher than Gibbs' but he didn't have as much impact with his disposals. Still very harsh on the guy.

Watching the replay on Bigpond sports (it's free for some reason :)), Carazzo hasn't missed a target (right or left foot) in the first half! Sublime disposal.

Ok - 60 seconds to go in the Grand Final -Carlton 4 points up. St. Kilda have the locked in the forward 50 and are all over us.

Full back kicks out to Carrazzo in the back pocket - he looks up and all players are covered.

How would you be feeling about Carrots 83% disposal efficiency right now !

In the words of Denis Pagan - don't piss down my back and tell me it's raining.

What's wrong with trying to eliminate every weakness in our game.

And reviewing this after a strong win is exactly the right time - no hysteria !!

i do agree with the OP in some retrospects
andy does make quite alot of mistakes, maybe a little more than an afl player should, but 83% effeciency rate has deceived some of his clangers

But his work rate and work in the middle is astounding, works so hard to get disposals and really lifts our team when needed, so this outweighs the clangers that he makes

also his kicking skills ahve improved alot lately, so he is workjing hard at it, his skills will come with hte hard work he puts in, and remember he is a rookie reject, so in that retrospect he is awesome!

Carrazzo is a valuable member of our 22. So keep doing what you are doing Carrats!

I'd feel more confident in Carrazzo than these players:

Wiggins
Armfield (he'll get better though, a lot of inexperience would be the main reason I've put im here)
Robinson (See Armfield)
O'hAilpin
Hampson
Russell
Johnson
Garlett
Jacobs
Hartlett
Austin

and many more, but I can't be stuffed going through our list.

Aussie's disposal is usually pretty spot on
russell's over the past 6 or so weeks has improved immensly
but the rest is pretty spot on

Fair enough - I'm big enough to admit it if I have it wrong.

The weight of opinion seems to be that Carrats stays :thumbsu:

As I say, I love his endeavour and, if you like, he deserves his chance given his efforts in the dark old days but to me it just so obvious that kicking clangers is Carltons achilles heel and will be the difference between us being just a top 4-6 side and being a genuine premiership contender in the next few years.

Quality, open-minded response - well done. :thumbsu:
