Are you serious? There’s nothing wrong with going for a walk, we’re not welded inside our houses ffs.
Nothing wrong w going for a walk at all…but what if someone else thinks they might just stop to have a look at training, then maybe another…and then one of them has virus…and gives it to others …. Then spreads to their family ….then….

Don’t Ffs me - Do you understand what a pandemic is?

I understand Jen making a joke but I can’t stand people deciding what rules they’ll follow
- wearing your mask under your nose / meeting w friends etc etc — keep doing this and we’ll stay in lockdown and destroy more businesses

The risk of outdoor transmission is so low it is completely negligible. Walking to the local park and watching guys kick a football is not going to “destroy” anything.

I don’t really think it was a joke, and we shouldn’t be discouraging people from getting out and exercising when the risk is close to zero. No wonder we have an obesity crisis in the country...

I can confirm I was the only one there apart from some media. I was obeying the rules. Wore a mask. All alone. Went no further than 5km where I live and was within 2 hrs. I took my bike for a ride. Has to do exercises for the chest pain (which now I suspect is heart burn) I have.

When it comes to training, your social media presence there is closer to essential than any of the formal media.

Unless they’re all huddled together in the same area, this is an almost impossible scenario. And I doubt people who are going for ‘walks’ and seeing some training would be silly enough to blow their cover by congregating.

Wasn't close enough to see how loud this was. Whether its for Ginni, or if its for Howe (maybe resuming full training?)

Don’t they normally mob the debutant & all ruffle his hair…seemed a bit low key.
Maybe Howe rejoining the main training group?

I know it’s a joke Jen but no - we’re not Sydney-siders who flout rules at Bondi leading to weeks more of lockdown
Stay home and let’s all get back to it next Weds
You actually think this will end on Wednesday? Glass half full guy? Eternal optimist? I think they will tack on another week at least and the creep whose name shall not be spoken will lecture us yet again with his back pressing up against the cupboard containing a number of skeletons.

I wasn’t going to write back but thanks for fuelling the fire and letting it go

Jen does an amazing job but I don’t care about a training report for 5 days (or however long) if it keeps me safe and gets me back to work
No, I don’t think it’s going to be 5 days but the length of the lockdown doesn’t mean I have the right to determine what rules I listen to and what rules I break.
And you’re blaming Dan bc people don’t follow tight parameters set to them???
Be this a warning to all the f wits who think they can wear their mask below their nose or not at all whenever they want to; go where they want when told not to
This lockdown is soul-destroying but let’s focus on the people who spread it through the community and those that thought that there was “no rush” for the vaccination rollout. The 4-point plan outlines what will happen when we reach certain vaccine levels - ie management, not lockdown - but again, Australians were told we were in no hurry

Walking to a local park to watch guys play football is exactly what we shouldn’t be doing - people make it seem so casual as if it’s no big deal…if you inadvertently spread it to a player who touches the same handrail as you…then it spreads to QLD and WA or wherever the players travel…that’s what happens in a pandemic
And if one person can go to training, why can’t we all? (Bc there’s potential for spread and longer lockdown)

And as for going to a park as no big deal as the risk is negligible…If scientists were so unfazed about people catching the virus outside, they wouldn’t put such strict restrictions in place
But I guess I should listen people on social media(?) you (?) rather than them?
Maybe #StopTheSteal and storm the capital, right?

And as for the previous comment about discouraging people from walking / obesity…
No one’s discouraging anyone from going for a walk - don’t blame the ongoing obesity crisis on not being able to stop and watch football for 5 days (or again, however long it lasts) - I seriously laughed when I read that post, talk about absurd hyperbole - we’re discouraging people from potentially spreading a highly virulent strain.
“Sorry Your Honour, I know I spread the virus through the community causing illness and financial ruin but…the obesity crisis…”
Go out for and walk for 2 hours, avoid people as much as you can, and avoid gathering

Feel free to PM me if you (or anyone) wants to debate politics / Covid etc as I’ll leave it at that on a public forum
Or you can take your pot-shots on here but I won’t be responding

The bloke's corrupt backdoor dealings led to the deaths of over 800 people. Tap dance around that.
Poor man had a bout of dementia throughout the sham investigation too. Talk about bad timing.

Main training - Round 19.

I come for the different guerneys, I stay for the debut announcements.

Annoying to discover they were all wearing black, so couldn't tell who was playing Haha. But at least now we know 2 debuts. Ginni and Tohil. Well done boys.

Rehab boys out first.

Howe
Daicos
Ty Brown.
Begg
Kelly
McCreery

Daicos, Tyler ran together alongside the boundary, then followed by Chugg later on.

The other boys on the track.

Rantall
De Goey
IQ
Grundy
Elliott
Bianco
Noble
Pendles
Keane
Wilson
Adams
Cameron
Lynch
Macrae
Ruscoe
Sidebottom
Roughy
Crisp
Reef
Poulter
Murphy
McMahon
Ginnivan
Chugg
Henry
Sier
Maynard
Checkers
Tohil
Cox

No Moore, JT, WHE, Mayne, Cal (obviously), Johnston

Tyler holding his arm up when running, though this is probably normal this early on in his rehab.

McMahon coming off his concussion seemed to be going okay. Was wearing the no contact cap, but looked to be doing most of the drills. I think next week he will be back in full training.

Unfortunately with no blacks v whites, it's hard to tell who else will be playing.

You'd think at very least --

JT - Ginnivan
Mayne - Tohil
Poulter (comes into the 22) - WHE (same position)
Macrae/Sier - Cal

Whether they rest Bianco will be something to consider. But probably not.

Skills session - Round 20,2021

Howe, Johnton, Begg and McCreery were outside first.
Followed by Chugg who did a little warm up early.

The rest of the gang then followed. Everyone was present except for:
  • Pendles
  • Cal
  • Moore

Tyler Brown and Josh Daicos did their own rehab work on the AAMI Park side (near me), which involved some exercises, and then lots and lots of running. Down alongside the boundary from one end to another.

There was another group that just did a running session and that included:
  • Henry
  • Elliott
  • Sidebottom
  • Ginnivan
  • Crisp

Being a lighter skills session, they then paired off in rotational groups, for some specialised drills. Followed that, there was some match play, goal kicking for the forwards and some match play at the other end just consisting of the defenders. The mids did stuff in the middle.

Aiden Begg, I was curious to see what part of the ground he would be training at for a KPP, and turns out; its forward. So looks like we'll be turning him into a forward/ruck. Which could work, he is quick, athletic and agile. Some good ruck craft, nice set shot at goal.

He also stayed out on the ground after everyone went in as he did extra work.

The baby midfield brigade did some centre bounce work with Selwood and Greenwood. This involved Reef, Macae and Rantall.

I'm quietly becoming high on Begg. He seems to have a legit AFL frame
