On Kirby, I'm glad to see he's at training. After all the "he's gonna quit" nonsense that's been flying around; and very premature too. He obviously needs to work on his conditioning but I hope we stick with him. He has tricks.

If he doesn't have the mental drive to make it he'll be gone in 1-2 years, so far it's pretty bad signs in that department regardless of his talent.

Only going to get fitter once he plays some VFL too. Looking forward to seeing what he can show on the field.

As a player taken in the ND I think he gets a minimum 2 year deal to start with.

Thats what I said. Maybe didnt express myself that well. Seems to me Keeffe and Cox will be fighting out for the second ruck spot while they want White to be a stay at home forward.

If we have White as our 2nd KPF god help us . He could not help us when was 3rd best .

Cloke wasn't either and he was out first. Some are writing him off. Others blame gameplan. Or delivery from the mids.
White actually had a very good season last year. He won't set the world alight but he could become very handy.

The big question I have on Keefe, is hardness at the contest and at the ball. I'd like to see him face up against an aggressive ruckmen in a regular season game before judging. Grundy is aggressive on match day, not at training.
Keefe has had very limited opportunity....read "no opportunity" in he ruck so it will be interesting to see if he can carry this form into real matches.

@DaicosTorpedo: Phillips has been terrific over the summer. Looks to be ready to step up, but didn't see a lot yesterday.
Sharenberg is doing nicely. Often the go to man from kick-ins. Looks cool and comfortable.
Faz worked as hard as I've seen him. Bucks was impressed with his work.

Likitysplit: I reckon we'll be thereabouts if Buckley finally gets a decent run with injuries. Honestly, he must have walked under 100 ladders. Due for some luck. I liked the last 6-8 games in 2016. 7th or 8th and I'd be really pleased.

apex Sam McLarty looked good yesterday. I did about 20 mins of action calls from the match which I didn't transcribe here due to time issues, but at one stage I called him moving through a pack as smooth as silk. First time I'd seen him in action. One glimpse impressed, just like Callum Brown.

Matt_352: He's a great bloke from what I have seen. Well mannered, courteous and spends time with supporters. Another bloke really impressed in this regard yesterday. Most players will say hello to Lorraine and her off sider on the way out to the field. They all know these two ladies; they are at every training session. Blair stops for a quick chat quite often. Yesterday Josh Smith spent a good five minutes chatting and asking questions. Apart from Maxy, I don't recall a player so generous with his time. I was very impressed.

Very happy to hear Callum and the Daisyslayer are back training, particularly the latter - he was becoming the forgotten man. Hoping he gets back to the form he showed in his first couple of seasons and becomes the new Jimmy Clement.

Lol is Lorraine that old lady that is always at training that likes to stand right up close next to where the players come out?

I think so. She's there whenever I go to training (infrequenty). Hangs around the race. I admire her dedication.

Can be delisted after 1 and paid out, it's happened before. Could even find himself on the Rookie list which is probably where he deserves to be.

Or maybe we could just put the negativity and hysteria aside, see how the kid goes this year, then make a call on what it is that he "deserves".
