I dunno, that thing was travelling like * on the turn then didn’t pick up in the straight. I’d say something went wrong, he didn’t seem to force the issue after it didn’t go for him.

Laying in something chronic was always going to be well back. Last start was massive spike which is concern for older horses. Was against it personally, easily should have held favouritism but way too short much like 90% of pikes rides.
