Lions
St.Kilda - They won't be able to handle the finals pressure.

Collingwood - If they make it, they will get done again.

Melbourne - I fancy their chances of making the big one more and more now, but we have already beaten them this year and will be able to beat them at the MCG.

Essendon - We will beat them at the G. If tonights match was at the G, we'd win.

Port Adelaide - Outsiders, but their finals record is nothing to be smiling about. Can't play at the G, Brisbane can.

Sydney - Won't make it that far.

Geelong - Will crack under the pressure. They havn't beaten us since 95 or 96.

Fremantle - Nope

West Coast - Nope

Any teams I've missed?

With 6 of the last 9 games at home and travelling to the MCG to play Hawthorn, Collingwood and travelling to the SCG to play Sydney, those are our away games.

I'm not being cocky here, but I can't see any team beating us at the Gabba in the finals, nor the MCG in the big one.

Thoughts?

I wouldn't say a shue in... But come finals time, Brisbane step up another notch, and it is unbelievable.

I think it will be out of St. Kilda, Brisbane, Essendon or Melbourne.

Go Dees.

No team has a better record at the G than essendon. We havent lost there this year.

I agree that nobody will beat Brisbane at the Gabba. I wouldn't lose any sleep playing the Lions in melb. I'd be more worried about playing port as they own our black and red arses.

I think Brisbane are the favourites but they are a long way off being shue ins.

What's the scoreline between Brisbane and us at the MCG? Isn't the last match we played against them there the 2001 GF?

They have only beaten us once at the G. That was the grand final

We went into that match with lots of very unfit players, yet we still led them by a couple of goals at half time, they won the GF on the third quarter alone, when all our boys were virtually gone physically.

No excuses cooldude the better team won. The lions went into last years GF with plenty of sore boys yet they flogged the filth.

Lot of water has gone under the bridge since then. I don't think either team is particularly worried about playing the other at the MCG. If anything, it's neutral territory - which would give the advantage to Brisbane simply by virtue of the fact they are the better side.

We are 3-2 at the dome...and 4-0 at the G..I struggle to see how we are disadvantaged playing at the G compared to the dome. If anything the extra space suits our forward line.

But it is the FLITH!!! :D :D :D

True, no excuses, but if we play them again, it would be different from 01. Although when the Lions are on, they can win anywhere, showed that last year against Sydney

You've only played them there 5 times and prior to the GF not since '98.

Essendon has 4-0 at the MCG this year, but they've only beaten Hawthorn, Carlton, Collingwood and a struggling Swans team. Sure they've won the games, but I wouldn't get too overexcited with that record just yet. Let's see how they do against Melbourne.

the grand final is one match. whoever gets there is a chance. upsets happen. a grand final can be won only on the last saturday. there is never a shoe in. but they should be outright faves.

Didn't say we are disadvantaged, it's more the case that Brisbane have found in the past the MCG more to their liking than the Telstra Dome - and that somewhat (perhaps entirely) negates the advantage we have at the Telstra Dome.

Well Sydney showed everyone how to beat the Saints. And has done pretty well against the Lions at the Gabba recently. And, if this week is their low point with injuries will be coming back towards full strength towards the finals.

Our big games against big opponents are normally in the Dome, so you won't often see us playing in the G against a good side, Melbourne next week though is at the G.

You can only beat the teams that are put in front of you. We play better at the G IMO and i see a lot of essendon mate.

Which is sort of my point - good record at the 'G but not against good sides. It's a shame that the Swans were playing so poorly in that phase as it would have been a good test for both teams.

Of course you can only beat the teams put in front of you, but you need to account into account who you are playing when you put forward your record.

I saw the Essendon games against Carlton, Collingwood and the Swans and didn't think Essendon looked particularly outstanding in any of the game.
