Being 5-1 after their start to the season they are now a lock for the top 2.

They seem to have finally found the right mix, especially in the forward line. The introduction of guys like Miers, Atkins, Clark and constable coupled with the recruitment of Rohan and dalhaus has been great for them. Ablett back to an elite level is huge for them. Stephen wells deserves a statue.

However, it’s only April. Flags are won in late September and early October..

We’ve seen what has happened with the cats in recent seasons when it comes to finals. Still a long way to go but they most definitely deserve to be flag favourites.

They are at least consistent, the GWS loss was a bad one giving up a four goal lead at home, but the Giants are pretty good. They are certainly beatable, and perhaps that was an early wake up call...so take nothing for granted. It's a well balanced team at the moment, but Essendon will be a test next week. Who would've given them a 5-1 start with that draw pre season?

No. They have a huge home ground advantage. They are playing great footy but we led them until time on in the last term after giving one of our worst performances for the year. They will hit a rough patch this year, rest assured.

Farkkkkkk me, excuses are lame. See you in the GF...

They have a cure for winning now.

Collingwood always has its worst game for the year against the Cats. Convenient. Of course, the way the opposition plays in no way affects the way your team plays.
Some of our most delicious wins have been against the Cats in the past decade. We've had plenty of great days against the Pussies. Facts matter.

They are a lock for top 2. Not unbeatble though.. especially when it comes time to play on the G come finals time.

Geez, there's a lot of unhappy people on here. Right now, Geelong is more likely to miss the grand final than make it, which gives the Cats something in common with 17 other teams.

Most people didn't even have us in the discussion for top four two months ago, so I don't know about others, but I'm just enjoying a 5-1 start for what it is, when most probably would have had us at 3-3 or 2-4 at this point.

Do you think Geelong will go all the way this year and win the flag, or not?
You don't know sh!t!!!
We've still got Scott as coach which means we'll lose this week, we'll lose after the bye and we'll be out of the finals in straight sets.
But at least your sorry arsed club will still be flagless.

Won the 2011 GF as a first year coach because he inherited a great team, he even credited Bomber how well they had been coached.
Was on a huge wave with the same team winning home and away games and our home ground is such an advantage it enhanced his winning record.
Could have won a flag with the 2013 team but blew it.
3/12 finals record since the 2011 GF.
Overall including the 2011 finals he is 3rd last with a finals winning % of 40.
As a game day coach he's simple minded and doesn't have the moves to counter opposition moves.
Something had been amiss for a few years hence the need for a review prior to this season.
This week against the Bombers who have speed behind them he will be at a loss to counter them, i'd say a loss is on the cards.

Oh and as i've said for the past 4 years, can't see him ever winning another flag.

A little bit cherry picked. Two of our recent wins were when Essendon was basically fielding a VFL team. They've been good against us recently. Agreed that in the more medium term, we've had a habit of giving them some fearful smackings to bring them back to earth when they've been showing some strong form and have been starting to think that it might be the year that they'll go deep into September. So who knows what to expect here?

Fully expecting that after a week of all and sundry pumping up their tyres we will get pumped by the Bombers this week.
Happens every time this club gets on a roll, they believe what is being written/said about them and go away from what they have been doing well and Essendon are just the team to deliver the reality check they are bound to receive this weekend, they play a high speed game that doesn't allow the backline to get set
