I'm genuinely curious.

How can a side go from number 1 in the world to being absolutely trounced in eight consecutive tests?

Not even in our recent slump did we roll over so meekly, so often.

Surely they haven't just suddenly forgotten how to play.

This side has been beaten down to a pulp by a less talented (IMO) team. There is every chance something is going on here, this doesn't happen to world #1s

personally i am very suspicious of every even remotely strange result nowadays, and tbh this does seem a little bit fishy

what's your take on a team being bowled out for 47 then?

and in answer to the question, no. india just dont seem to care enough about test cricket after winning the world cup. and they've been quite rightly pummeled since by england and australia away from home

Not unless there was a shitload of coin put on them for a 0-4 whitewash. In all of the 13 days they have managed to keep the Test's going they haven't looked like a team in control enough to be able to lose on purpose.

I don't think people would be saying it if it were just one innings. We are talking 8 tests in a row.

India didn't become number 1 by beating teams with great pace bowling away from home, a few years back what india did was hang tough away from home(in other words didn't lose much but didn't win much) and then dominated at home.

p.s. surely the big money to be made from match fixing is in highly unexpected results? if india lost at home to say NZ that would raise eyebrows as the odds would be substantially favoring anything other than a kiwi win.

Despite poor form heading into his series Australia were comfortably favorites wit the bookies.
