Melbourne are going to reach their 2000th game in the history of the VFL/AFL in Round 6, while Sydney will reach it in Round 3.
I was just wondering if the clubs have anything planned for the respective games, because it is quite a big achievement for a club.
Carlton, Collingwood, Essendon and Geelong are the only clubs to have passed the landmark.

We didn't do anything for our 2000th VFL/AFL game in Round 2 1999, so I doubt if Melbourne or Sydney will. I wonder if the clubs even know they are approaching the milestone?

I didn't even know it was coming up. Melbourne had a big celebration for their 140th birthday in 1998 so I doubt if they will do something for the 2000 games.

Mobbenfuhrer,

At least those 2000 games would not have been as repetitious as many of the BigFooty posts in that thread.

Any Eagles fans remember when we celebrated a milestone game in either 95 or 96 against Brisbane at the WACA in Round 2 (Unfortunately the game where Woosha did his knee) there was some fireworks at half time. That was about it, and the only celebrations the club has had for a number of games it's played
