But once again can they afford to bottom out? They didn't exactly pack the stands when they were in their prelim losing years. How are things going to go for them if they bottom out? Won't take long for the jungle drums to start beating. Again.
Lol, the jungle drums have been beating for over 120 years, north is still here, in north melbourne.

You had problems all over the park last year. You then picked Caddy and Prestia who have allowed Martin & Cotchin to have their best years. Like you, North have a track record of playing finals not that long ago. North might be 2-3 really good players away from putting themselves back into contention.
Richmond fans have short memories.

I think they can bottom out. Supporters understand teams going the youth route, its gives them something to look forward to, and something to invest in. We have seen this recently at Essendon. Bombers supporters have been understanding during their plight at the bottom. Why? Because they could see a future. North can bottom out, and I would argue they need to bottom out.

Bullshit. I often enjoy reading your take on things but I seriously doubt that you actually believe this.
Something has changed with our bunnies attitude. Not sure where they got the honesty and unselfishness from but it's working. But you're probably right, copying Richmond doesn't make sense no matter how many grand finals they lose.

St Kilda made the finals in 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011

Carlton made the finals in 2009, 2010, 2011, 2013

Not exactly decade-long are they?
saints not quite a decade. Just making finals isn't a success, look at this year, pretty much from 6th to 18th are all equally shite, i wouldn't include any of those carlton finals appearances as anything to be proud of - made no impact.

Can't see it happening, just don't rate their list. I think there's too many teams ahead of them. Just my opinion.

For how many years has Brown been exposed to or been playing Aussie Rules?
For how many years has Daw been exposed to or been playing Aussie Rules?
How much input or development has Scott had with Brown?
How much development did Brown he need?
Whats your point and why are you posting it to me??

You suggesting Sydney are as bad as North Melbourne?

The backline is set, we have unearthed a giant at full forward, the ruck is set, and the complimentary mids are in place.

All we are waiting for is an injection of midfield class, then we will unseat a some of the usurpers currently perched in the top 8.

Another key forward and one or two skillfull small forwards and we are set for the long haul.

Two players is all we need.

Snake, if Tarrant injured who would be a suitable replacement?

It's a lot easier to find and add a couple of 'good' players to compliment and help your team than to find and add the stars who will lead it.

Also, while we might have been poor last year, we'd been in finals the 3 years before that, and much of that team was still there.

Reported.
Blatant troll attempt.
No, it was pointing out what could, quite easily, happen.

The AFL (or at least AFLTas) has been quite clear about wanting just one team down there, and 7 home games down there will put any team on a slippery slope towards a 'relocation by stealth'.

A club that is poor/weak off field will be more susceptible to the push to take those games, and a small club that spends a long time near the bottom will be far more likely to be poor/weak.

I'm not saying this is what I'd want...indeed, I posted later that I thought a 9th Melb team was more viable than a Tas team...but I can see the AFL wanting it, and a club like North being in the cross hairs for it.

The Tiger army are certainly up and about. Would think 35 years of failure would teach them a bit about humility but nah, win one final against an overrated side and you all think there's a dynasty brewing. Here's a tip mate, your list is still pretty crap, but fortunately for you this is one of the poorest standard seasons in memory. Let's see how you go against a real quality September side.
Maybe someone like Sydney?

There can be only one...
Chasing every F/A and uncontracted player available, OK list but nothing to write home about - Are they worried bottoming out is going to put them in a precarious position going forward?

Currently in no man's land as a club, and certainly not an attractive destination.
We haven't chased every FA, just ones that any club would want. Some of them are long shots, but others have been more substantial, Martin for example was very close to coming over, if it wasn't for Richmond making a last bid attempt to offer more money and getting close to what we offered he said himself that he was on the verge of accepting our offer.

It is not like we are attempting to poach players of the Mayne calibre.

We don't spend eons at the bottom of the ladder sucking back #1 picks, like some clubs do, so if we can supplement our list via free agency then great, if players do not accept then it doesn't matter, we don't pay anything for players who end up staying.

I don't think we are impatient with our "rebuild", I think rebuild just means a lack of enough talent to realistically win a flag, so most clubs are rebuilding outside of a handful of genuine contenders, I think all clubs are always trying to make their list better and we would likely chase good quality free agents if we have the capacity to do so irrespective how good our list was if there are better players available.

I am keen to see how Mason Wood progresses, he looks like one of those players that could be extremely difficult to match up on. Hopefully gets more time on the park and develops into a freak.
Was good against Richmond (in first half) and Melbourne this year.
Just needs to get his body right and stay on the park.
