Are parking spaces for 'mums with prams' legally enforceable?

Think about it from the shopping centre's perspective: the chances are that Mums with strollers have other young kids. Mum has hands full with stroller, maybe shopping trolley, and hard to control loose other kids. More chance of an accident. More chance of shopping centre being sued for not providing safer parking.

It's really not that big a deal that shopping centres offer preference parking for Mums with strollers. And it's fair enough if you disagree (your argument is quite valid), but even still, people who disagree should cop it on the chin and park elsewhere.
It's a great idea from a shopping centres perspective, no doubt.

Interesting discussion so far. When I asked the question I suppose there was two aspects to it - the legal technicality, plus people's attitudes in general.

Legally, you don't get a fine, as I suspected.

As for the other aspect, well I tend to agree with the "You know we live in a society" sentiment. I wouldn't park in one 'just because I can' if I can find another park somewhere.
Could you get charged with trespassing or a similar offence? After all you are on a part of private property to which you, as a childless person, are not invited. You are, however, invited to the premises more broadly, just not that specific spot.
Even if it was possible, and that may change from jurisdiction to jurisdiction, the possible resulting publicity would probably not be worth it for a centre operator. But, in theory, would it be possible?

I would think the worst you could expect is a strongly worded letter or potential fine for breaching the terms and conditions of using the car park. That and being viewed as the dickhead you are for parking omewhere that you shouldn't.

I partly avoid parking in pram spaces in that I will first look for a vacant ordinary park. However, if the only vacant parks are for pram people, I will park there. There is a commercial reason why pram parks are provided by shopping center management. Women with families are likely to spend more money than people without children.

I cannot see why a mother with kids is not just as capable as anyone else of driving around looking for a vacant park. And as a single person who has never had children, my taxes help finance all the government handouts to families with babies etc.

Those families' children will be working and paying taxes to pay your pension later in life and will be health workers and carers for you when you don't have a family to look after you.

Ive seen how the elderly are looked after in this country your comment doesnt really have merit.
