Is that the same 'excellent' that would come from Sabre, or a realistic one??

To be honest, i was really surprised that the eagles picked up Judd at the time, and quite unhappy about it too.... but just the enjoyment of seeing him play and the excitment he creates have been more than worth it - he's gonna be an absolute superstar

Funny how that doesn't apply to McDougall. Which one of you freo folk said "McDougall is the worst top 5 draft pick ever"?
You serious? Polak is younger and already has shown a lot more than McDougall has at AFL level.

McDougall might well be a good player but he's in his 3rd year now so injuries permitting, you'd expect him to start producing this year. I know he has had injury problems and still has a very light frame so it might take him longer than others, but you can't label him as a future gun player until he has good games at AFL level.

May just need more time. Polak has played every game bar injury IIRC.
Polak was hit pretty hard with injuries last year (injured in the first minute against WC and also injured early on in the Carlton game IIRC).

True Kenny but some are late bloomers. But I would have thought that Woosha (who I think is a great coach) would have given him more than 2 games in 2 years & 10 rounds if he thought he had potential.

I didn't know that he went at no 5 but that means nothing really when you look at Haddrill , Haydon & Grover who came of the rookie list.

I was merely showing the hypocrisy of you using the excuse that KPP take longer to develop whilst McDougall gets labelled a hack. I never proclaimed Doogs to be a future gun.

Anyway, on 2003 statistics, Judd is 188cm tall whilst Polak is 193cm. Is there really that much difference? If it is, then maybe McDougall at 196cm can be given a bit more leverage?

Which goes back to what I've said previously, Freo play kids not 100% AFL ready whereas WC gives them time.
Who's not AFL ready? We have quite a few decent players in the WAFL that aren't getting games.

Bottom line is that Judd is already one of the better midfielders in the competition and their is no question that he will become an absolute gun, if he isnt already.

Polack though is still just a youngster trying to make an impression. No team would take Polack before Judd. Simple as that.

I totally agree Jod! Polack may be good but he is no where near Judd. Im sure Polack will be good, maybe even a great player but I cant see him being a superstar. I can see that Judd is going to be an superstar.

Polak, Sandilands and Schammer are recent examples that spring to mind as those who were rushed into senior footy at the expense of older players (A.Fletcher anyone?).

Please name those 'decent' players running around in the WAFL.

Hmmm, Polak maybe last year but Sandilands is more than ready now. He is providing good backup in the ruck and we have plenty of other players not getting games that would be in previous seasons. Schammer is getting games because of his really good form in the WAFL for Claremont. I know they're young but that in itself can't be a reason not to play them.

And Jod and Carly, how deluded are you two. No wonder you two were called the most one eyed supporters on here. Especially Carly, I doubt you would have seen any/many Freo games at all this season because you don't have Foxtel as you said before and there's only been 1 or 2 Freo games on FTA this season... what are you basing your thoughts on?

Polak is a natural and would be a first start at all clubs.
Sandilands needs time in the middle with our rovers so THEY can learn to rove to him.

Schammer is "Judd like" in some of the things he does and is being eased in much like Judd was in his first year.

Players pushing for spots are T Longmuir , Siegert , Cunningham , Browne & Luke Toir and of course we are waiting on Macphlin to stop growing.

Most of these players would fit straight into your lineup, particularly Siegert who would feel right at home with all the other Victorians. :)
