Are the Reds the most vicious outfit yet seen?

Now, in truth, I don't think they're all that vicious. In every match so far, we've not had the foot down all that hard. Hawthorn almost looked as though they outplayed us, hence the margin was only in the 60s.

South Melbourne had the ball at least as much as the Reds, and the 100+ margin seemed perhaps a little flattering.

The hardest that the Reds have played so far would have to be the opening round match, against Richmond. We got up by 70+ points in that one, in VERY wet conditions (that was the Saturday when the severe lightning storm hit). In good weather, the margin would probably have been well over 100 points. Royophobic weather.

The South match included a lot of poor kicking at goal. 1.9 in the first quarter, and the third was a bit inaccurate, too. In fact, we seem to have a favourite end at Brunswick Street.

The player skills have continued to leave myself, and other to whom I have spoken, breathless. The Reds seem to be a far better ball-handling unit then the other clubs.

The Roy is flexing its muscles, and it is seeing that we could have afforded to skip a few chapters in the Handbook To Conquerin' Stuff.

The reds are a delight to watch. Slick and confident. They seem to know where there team mates are; they can deliver the ball accurately to their team mate and when the ball i s there to be marked, it's one grab. They have good marking skills. When the balls loose they want it and there's always a team mate to back them up; talking it up. And when the opposition has the ball they chase and are not scared to tackle hard. A joy to watch. At the breaks the coach is giving them positives and the boys respond, they appear to have a real belief in themselves and their ability. Easy when your winning one may say, but it doesn't come across as an arrogant confidence. They are a TEAM!

GO REDS .

Wharfy's not a bad mark, is he! Probably got the right number, with #3 . . .

They've got a bit of height, the Reds have. It'll be interesting to see whether Bentleigh and St.Johns have a host of smaller running players - which might be a problem for us.
