Probably doing a heavy training load to get ready for the finals and don't care about dropping games, such was their lead on the rest of the comp.

Could be some merit in this. I'm sure they wouldn't want to drop games, but knew their was a risk.

They may have increased training loads in those weeks with 8-day turnarounds leading into rd 17 and rd 19. Could have some high rolling 21 and 28-day training loads under their belt right now, and a 6-day turnaround to Port with travel would also add to that fatigue with higher 7-day loads. Another 6-day turnaround to Collingwood so that fatigue isn't going to dissipate any time soon.

They'll have a 7-day and an 8-day week to round out the season, plus the pre-finals bye so easier to manage now. But geez, they need to win a game for their confidence as this could be wrecked.

Surprised there hasn't been more discussion on Heeney's decision to challenge his one match suspension.

Rot has well and truly set in since. Given Heeney got one week, would miss against North with Swans well clear on top, the decision to go to the tribunal and then appeal was driven by selfish reasons with an eye on the brownlow... the antithesis of the so called team first "bloods culture".

Tom Harley's laughable response to Toby taking the piss out Heeney's bizarre video after the suspension was upheld provides insight into how far the Swans have gone away from a team first mentality.

They beat a team many expected them to. Losing de Goey effectively ended Collingwood's season. Apart from Daicos, there is no one else who bursts out of stoppages. You need at least two of those types to get over Sydney.

Exactly which is why Sydney are nothing to be feared whatsoever. Their game is incredibly suspect at the moment. Playing in patches.

If Papley and McInnerney are back for week 1 or 2 of the finals, and no further injuries, that is pretty much full strength. Swans are way better with both in. Forward line is very bad without Papley
