Seeing as how anyone outside of Victoria seems to think that we have to many clubs I was curious as to how Victorians feel that we may have to many clubs OUTSIDE of Victoria???

Surely there is no more than six at the most, get rid of them and keep the rest might be a good move.

Also the rumour that Bill Gates is a Swans supporter and is looking to redevlop the Lake oval and bring South back to south sounds like a good idea too!

p.s Anyone who takes this post seriously, I have a stadium out at Waverly that I am looking to sell.

I would have to say to make it a national competition they need to not drop interstate teams but to add more especially from the ACT, NT, Tasmania and perhaps a second team from Queensland or NSW. This would be very exciting and a great move for football

As a Victorian, I despise the interstate clubs for making us miss games throughout the year, at least we can see them on TV and of course I think there are too many.

But as a football supporter, I believe we need to add two more interstate teams from Sydney and Hobart to make the competition national, and in doing so (I really hate to say this) drop Victorian teams or re-locate to Victorian teams to the above mentioned destination. ie North Sydney Kangaroos, Tasmanian Bulldogs.

PS Bulldog and Roos supporters don't take offence, it's just a suggestion.

Good one Grendel! Does make a bit of a change from having to constantly read that there are too many Victorian teams.

gocatsgo, I have to disagree with you (again)

There is no reason at all for Victorian teams to have to relocate, merge or cease to exist, provided they are financial and can pay off their debts. (I'm not talking about any specific clubs here)

As for you thoughts on making the competition truly national, firstly Hobart are nowhere near ready for admittance and will not be for many years. (Sponsorship, facilities, population, etc) Surely you would realise that the poorer Victorian clubs would offer more than a Hobart team. I agree that eventually Sydney will need a second team, but even that is quite a long time away.

If it ain't broke, don't fix it!
