Are these Fletcher rumours true?

I don't believe so. The club has come out and denied the rumours, and i for one, believe them (this time  ). Saw Dustin this morning down at Windy Hill as i was lining up for tickets. He was moving uninhibited and was not favouring any leg in paticular. He'll be fine.

I've only heard this rumour now...and i must say i am shocked...especially after seeing Fletcher this morning.

Who started this rumour by the way?

I've heard it 'around the traps', and I kind of believe it...

I might give a tingle to a contact and ask very nicely if they know anything, because it would be a major blow to the Essendon premiership chances, and would really put them under the hammer this week with matching up both Ottens and Richardson, which won't be helped by the impending return of Benny Gale.

Shall watch with interest...

And we threw the game because we knew we could rely on Freo to win and we wanted Grant Thomas to coach St. Kilda next season we we could beat them twice. :D

And we threw the game against Freo just so that we COULD play them and get Richmond in the second week.:D

We knew how the results were going to pan out, so we threw the Brisbane game a few weeks back, just so we wouldn't have to travel in the first weeks.

Could you imagine how the ferals would be if - after so long in the finals wilderness - our first final was 2000 km to the north! It wouldn't be pretty!

Mantis - as if Essendon would throw a match, so they didn't have to play Carlton. I think it would hurt them mentally to do so. Plus if you are the greatest team ever, why would it matter if you had to play Carlton???

Who's to say he wouldn't play anyway, after all it's not as though he's got an entire season to get through.

Oh, and it was Denis "I hate rumors" Pagan who started the rumor. Go figure.

And Port won just coz we like to do things like that

(stealing and bastardising a line from "The Warriors" movie)

Sandy (Mantis) was being sarcastic. Of course we didn't through the match... Richmond, with shedloads more to play for exploited a poor match from some of our guys, a height advantage up forward with Fletcher out and also put on a terrific performance themselves.

That said, some of us are still quietly confident of doing the business this week when it really counts.

Cheers
Dutchy

PS. I hope Silvani, Porter and Ratten are all back for Saturday week if by chance we did drop another game... in all sincerity this is appallingly bad luck.

Did you mean to say you didn't throw the match or didn't play through the match??? ;)

I dont think you'll know until late friday night if Fletcher is going to play.

I am wondering if Essendon will throw this weeks match to give some of their better players match fitness before the preliminary.
