Comments in the West by Judge show new players will be given a chance before the seasons end.Judge said: "We have got a couple of players, both rookie and listed, who might get a few opportunities in the next couple of weeks.

"Come the end of the year you have to look at your whole list and maybe we have to consider some other options."

K Green, D Haynes, D Buzsan and K Miller are all in good WAFL form and should be given a chance, oh I forgot Antonowicz as well. I think this is a good move- any comments?

I interpreted Judge's comments (perhaps harshly) as seeking to deflect criticism of his coaching performance by blaming the players on Sunday and suggesting that the players in the WAFL would have done better/tried harder (which I doubt). I'd like to see a longer term plan being implemented.

Since our season is effectively over, we might as well try anything, seems to be the approach. But I'm not convinced that you can judge players in this way. Scott Bennett springs to mind from last year - what did we learn about him by playing him in 1 or 2 games before delisting?

I think that consistently good WAFL performances will be rewarded:

Haynes - others such as Munro and Hunter seem to have been put ahead of him for no obvious reason, but he'll get his chance soon.

Antonowitz at Full Back also seems logical with Ash not yet ready.

Green hasn't played this year, which surprises me after last year, so I expect he'll get a go soon too.

I think we should play our best team and try to win matches (especially and essentially versus Freo) while building for the longer term. At the end of the year, be ruthless with the list and get rid of those players who (in the view of the coaching staff) simply aren't good enough and will never make it.

I think its a great idea. We need to see these rookies in action so we can judge whether or not they are worth keeping. The season is gone so isnt it now a given that we should play the kids for next year. Rest Ash for another week and bring in Antona, bring Green in and give Kerr a well earned rest.

It's just a shame that this makes it more likely that we'll have the ignominous record of having to be given a helping hand by the AFL in 2001.

I believe a lot of the youngsters should be given runs in the Sydney game so our injury prone players(Roo, McIntosh, Gardiner, Fido, etc)can be fit for the Saints game. And again later in the last 3 games.

Also, Kerr needs a break. The kid has played his arse off, and he deserves a break so he can be fully ready for the saints game.

Well we cant rest Cousins because apparently he is at very short odds for the brownlow. Jason Johnson however is the favourite???
