Almost everyone is saying that Adcock can keep it up but Brennan can't.
You would think that if one could so could the other, similar perhaps to the Bowden brothers last year.
If Brisbane are able to play kick to kick in their backline like they did in the first 2 rounds then both will flourish. If this game style stops, the both will not be as valuable...
Personally I think they'll both have very good years.

Your logic is dubious...Adcock finished 3rd in Brisbane's B&F in 2005, and missed the first 16 rounds of last year with injury and averaged 80 in the 6 games he did play at the end of the season, whereas Brennan has been highly inconsistent for a number of seasons. One is a proven player, and one is not...

Where he finished in the B&F has absolutely no relevance to Dream team whatsoever.
Brennan has been moved into the backline with Adcock and will play a reasonably similar role. If you think that Adcock will average 80 this year, then logic would tell that Brenna would also be somewhere around that mark due to his position change. I doubt there'll be anything more than 5-10 pts difference in their averages.

They wont play anything near the same role .. Adcock is a small running player.. Brennan is lining up at CHB
same role? hahaha

Same role in terms of how they accumulate DT points, newbie.
They like to play kick to kick, do you really think that what position they are named in is important when it comes to that?

Of coarse it matters where they play mate.
Adcock runs up the ground.
I may be a BF newbie but iv'e been watching footy all my life.
I'll guarentee you Brennan wont continue how he is going

Brennan isn't your stereotypical CHB. He also moves up the ground, and always wants the ball in his hands. Where some might be happy to sit back the backline, he will push up a little and move to get the ball.

I have no wish to get into a petty argument of this anyway ;)
We all have opinions, and we can't know for sure what'll happen until it does.
I for one though am happy to take a punt on Brennan going on what I've seen in Brisbane's first two games.

Well if your're Going on the first 2 games.. you might as well rule out Hodge, Bowden, And Cornes for the year
:)

You can't seriously think relying on a team to chip kick all year is going to work
No doubt he'll have his up and down weeks. As everyone does.
But IMO Brennan has always shown promise as a DT'er. He's been incredibly inconsistent no doubt, but he's always shown promise. Now that they may have found his position it could be the year he starts giving more regular hundreds.
Of course i'm not certain on this (i'm probably trying to convince myself as much as you atm), but I'm willing to take the risk. Because I sure as hell don't wanna miss the boat on him if he does keep it up.

Btw, chip-kicking has worked for Joel Bowden for the last 3 or 4 years :thumbsu:
It can be ugly football I know, but for DT it's gold.

Oh please don't try to compare trying to jump on a potential break-out player to 3 of the most proven DT stars having a bad start.
That's just being silly mate.

Lol your own words

yes you could be right about Brennan.. which would be great for DT'ers and for him because he looks like he wants to be there.. but for me.. he needs more than 2 games.. if he keeps this form up for 3 quarters of the season then he would of..
just atm.. hes always been very up and down ever since his debut.
Obviously he has shown us what he CAN do but whether he does is another matter

Lol your own words
Not really. The first two rounds are important in finding guys who might be good pickups during the year, and grabbing them before price rises.
When it comes to proven DT superstars, a subpar the first few rounds aren't anything to go getting trade happy over.

Anyway when it comes to Brenna no-one can be sure. Of course I'd also like to wait until 3 quarters of the season is over, but if he has done well, by then it'll be too late.
So if you want to strike, the time is now.

Anyway, it's good to see a difference of opinions on bigfooty which doesn't end in un-related abuse and name calling :D

Yep all true.. i just think that Bock was a better choice IMO:rolleyes:
From what i sqw last year and this year he seems consistent

Definitely agree Bock is a better choice.
It's just that I already have him. So I'm looking to take a punt on Brennan for the injured Johncock (and make some cash in the process).
Some others around that price are Power, Beau Waters & Xavier Clarke.
But I think Brennan's shown the most potential of that bunch so far.

Yep Definitely Brenna over Power and Clarke.
I think Waters would be a good option also.. He is very hard at it, yes he gives away free kicks, but he averages about 4 tackles a game.. and he is just getting started in his career.
I like Waters better as a player.. he seems to be very consistent with his 20 odd possesions 7+ Marks and a few tackles.
Maybe it's just cause i love my Eagles :D

With Mal Michael and Justin Leppitsch now gone, Brennan doesn't really have much competition for his spot in the team. Yes, he's always been inconsistent, but a lot of that has been due to erratic playing time.

If he's guaranteed to get almost a full game each week, i can't see why he won't average 75+ for the season. Which is pretty damn good for someone under $250k.

OOMMMGGG finally someone that agrees with me that brennan may actually play good footy this year. I think he is coming into a prime time in his carreer and will start to become a very good player in the competition
