Of course it doesn't. There's no substitute.

I'm gonna go out on a limb and suggest we're not going to win the flag this year.
man everyone jumping onto this with some steam huh.
Does everyone forget we played Adelaide IN Adelaide after a 6 day break in torrential rain, and that after playing on a sponge like surface in warm humid conditions in Brisbane??

Anyone else sitting back extremely comfortable that it's not us that have to deal with this?Sorry to intrude, but as we've got two of the 34 on our list it's an interesting discussion to read about.
I reckon you can't truly judge if they're feeling it already until your game after you play us. You've got a 10 day break before ANZAC day so the players should be fine, the 5 day break before your game against us means you could excuse some tired bodies but your round 7 game will be the best indicator.
Hibberd has had a couple niggles and played his first game in the VFL last week and looked good, if there was going to be any bloke that'd struggle with a year off I think it'd be old thunder thighs piggy so we'll see if they bring him in straight away or let him get some real good form going at Casey. Melksham seems pretty fit but his problems are above the shoulders anyway![]()
what
EFA = Edited For Accuracy = I quoted your post and updated it a bit
His point is that the surface probably made us more leg-weary than normal in the weeks after.yeah i know.......... but we didn't have any issues against Brisbane with the pitch. We just sucked and let them back in into the game

Yeah i think that's stretching a bit. Was it harder? Yes but i don't think that's it whats contributing to the boys lack of pace. Most trips up to QLD have those conditions. Would think that most of the problems relating to the swamp game.
I also think getting smashed by the likely premier at their home ground the consecutive week makes things look worse than they probably are. If the game against Carlton was dry weather we would be odds on for 3-1 going into Anzac Day as heavy favourites.
I think we're on the same page, however it looks like I'm putting a bit more weight on the conditions in Brisbane having a cumulative effect than you are

He'll also probably win you the game one day and put your hopes up, then crush it into pieces again

I am just looking forward to him hitting some Essendon players on the chest for a changeHopefully he's one of those guys who randomly plays a blinder against his old team![]()

Listening to Hepp, I don't think being unfit is the right word, I think a bigger problem might be the disconnect between guys who are used to the crappy go short, go sideways or go backwards approach of the last decade verses the go forward by taking the game on.
This might be what Woosha is really getting at when he talks about team balance because every year AFL clubs can change as much as 20%-25% of their list.
Is that because they're attached to his body?Jobe can't lift his legs.
And took Watson, Baguley, Brown, Green, Goddard, Berger and Stanton over.man everyone jumping onto this with some steam huh.

im hardly a test case.....
but deciding to play again this year after a huge break, i was training up an absolute storm! running rings around it, bouncing about - doing everything required.
5 mins into the first practice match i was blowing up a storm - half way through first game i had massive lactic acid legs and was useless.
again, not saying i can compare with elite systems and all that jazz, just saying training has zero similarities to actual match play imo.
