no it doesn't...
but if your so over negative supporters...

(1) Don't read this board
(2) Don't go to games
(3) Don't listen to the radio
(4) Don't go to training
(5) Don't read the papers
Why..because negative supporters are everywhere!!

Comment all you like JJJ, but believe me,
it's a losing battle fighting against negativity,
just like fighting the eternal optimists here.
Only season 2007 will tell how we are going.
Cheers mate.

Get real. If you want to post here you can post what you want but if you are continually dumping on your team both of you can f off

Loosen your pants pal...
I was trying to respect you choice of opinion.
You made a comment about you're so over negativity...
Was it De Niro that said 'this is this' ? Understand?
Get over it pal....there's negativity here, there's optimism here...

You want an argument n00b....?
OK...you're sick of negativity.....stuff you then...here's your argument....
You say things are positive...
I'll say we are stuffed ....as usual

(Jumping in and taking sides as soon as you get here) ha
fu too you little fresh clown.

the only basket case is the supporters who think we are, if you do not believe in the tigers get lost

agree who gives a stuff about winning the preseason... Look at geelong last season won the nab cup and failed to make the finals. Come round 1 everything will be in place for a good season :) For all them idiots saying oh we have had a poor start to the year think again.

Believe me its better off starting off average and showing form when the real stuff happens. Then promising the world and then letting everyone down.
Tigers will be ok, they have a good group and I have a feeling that they will show when it is needed.

I don't think we have been a basket case for 7-8 years. Ever since we had Frawley. Since then we have been reasonably stable as a club. Far from perfect, but at least stable.

The reward for not giving Frawley the bum's rush was Miller, then Wallace - two highly respected figures in the AFL world. They will gradually improve our list and move us up the ladder. The LAST thing the club needs to do is listen to negative know-it-alls, as was done in the past, and move either on.

The only way for the club to experience any success is to keep recruiting smartly and gradually fill the gaps in the list. Premierships are off the agenda for a few years yet, but we will get there eventually:thumbsu:.

Has anyone else noticed how much the term "mediocre" has exploded over the last 3 years.

Just about every article you read or everytime you listen to talk back the term is used. I say people 1. Learn the definition of it and 2. Stop running the phrase into the ground.

For the record we havent been mediocre over the past 25 years we have been SHAT

But things are changing.

For most of us, supporting the Tiges is a life commitment - are you committed, Terry? Or are you gonna jump ship when it just becomes too hard?

You're 37 years old, you've at least seen one premiership. Try being a Doggies supporter and not seeing one since '54.

Premierships don't grow on trees! They're worked hard for, and sometimes along the way shiit happens. Clubs either deal with it or give up. I'm glad our club is dealiing with it, and not thinking about going up north and throwing in the towel. We could have so easily not been in existence now except for the hard work of many ppl to get us to where we even are now.

But they really don't need the constant whining and whinging by ppl such as you. Every bloody year, there's someone who just wants that magical quick fix that just isn't there.

Support your club or piss off!

:thumbsu: Brilliant post. We're all Tigers till the end. When we finally hold the cup aloft again, it will be bigger than any other team will ever see. The city of Melbourne will explode!

GO TIGES!!!

the only basket case is our negative supporters like you deliberate. come and see me in round 22 and we will talk this over a few beers at the London.

round 22..?
if we're in the finals by then you're right.
If not...I win the show bag.

btw....I make it a rule never to drink in sh##holes with bar staff or fat ugly topless barmaids.
Have a light beer with yourself.
Cheers

Absolutely. In a few days Richmond will have their pre-season report by Mike Sheehan in the Herald-Sun. Expect the headline to be: More Mediocrity from Punt Rd.
Things are changing for the better but I dont expect giant strides. Wallace is good enough to get us into finals action, we just need to get the playing list right. I suspect it will take 2 more seasons.

lol, as do I. I also drink at 'bottomless' joints. :D
lol back at ya. One of the must dos at least once a season is a day (or night) at the footy with your mates and a mandatory stop at the Royal on the way to the game and then again on the way back. And then even perhaps one of those fine 'gentlemen's clubs' on King St afterwards. Always the Tigers vs Dons game for us. It's become a tradition. Sad, silly old men we are.

Sounds like a good tradition Tugga. I've been using the visit to 'gentleman's club' as a selling point to get some of my mates into the footy. Last year I had 2 conversions. They are full blooded Tiger supporters now - not to mention perverts...

2 finals appearances in 25 years.

an endless amount of coaches and administrators.

So many missed draft opportunities - ie Pavlich and Franklin.

in debt.

no respect from any other teams or their supporters.

Treated with contempt by the whole league. How long have we loyal supporters been duped into believing this was the year but it never happpened? Too many times.

players who do not have the heart or the gonads to win and always finish nowhere 9th.

I could go on but its very sad.

How long do with have to be mediocre for? How much more pain is there to come? When will we climb out of this abyss of mediocrity we are stuck in?

Are we the basket case of the league?

I told you all so...

You've made such a convincing case that's it hard to disagree.

2 finals appearances in 25 years is the kicker.

If you believe the scuttlebutt, success and failure are cyclical. Richmond's cycle seems to be a lot longer than other clubs'.

Depends what you consider success. If you mean a premiership there are 9 other teams who've gone much longer without during their history.

Sth Melb/Syd - 72 years
StK - 60 years + 40 years and counting
Fitz - 52 years up to their demise
Foots - 28 + 52 and counting
Nth Melb - 48
Geel - 43 and counting
Melb - 42 and counting
Haw - 35
Coll - 32
Rich - 26 and counting

Maybe not so cyclical.
