Not much to say actually. Take out the Tassie Government tax-payer funded lifeline and you have a LOSS. A LOSS in your so-called boom era is a huge concern. Says something about the viability of the Hawks in their present form. A weak supporter base doesn't help, and silly ultraflooding gameplans will turn the TV networks off broadcasting your games e.g. Hawks V Saints ultraflooding ratings disaster. :)

If it is, it could be that Hawthorn are putting all their eggs in one basket. Not saying that it will, but it could come back to bite them on the arse when the Tasmanian deal winds up.

Bzzzzt. WRONG. Try again, fool.

The Tassie Deal is $1.5 million PER YEAR, of which $1.1 million is included in revenue/profit. The balance is game day sponsorships etc, etc.

Now when I was at school many moons ago, 3.6 million minus 1.1 million equalled 2.5 million. Even if you take away the whole 1.5 million, it STILL works out to a PROFIT of 2.1 million.

With $10 million net assets, I'd say we're doing substantially better off field than your deluded mind will let you believe.

But believe whatever you like, parrot. It's no skin off my nose whatsoever. I still say you are a w***er, for posting such complete and utter tripe, but whatever floats your boat.

Please, don't let the facts stand in the way of your complete and utter bullshit.

This was pointed out in the media recently as you well know. It is A LOT more than 1.5 mill per year from the Tassie Goverment. Closer to 3x that in fact. So you are factually wrong. Try repeating the Math with the correct numbers next time. lol. And it IS NOT a guaranteed ongoing source of income, as you incorrectly point out. Government grants by definition never are. Until the Hawks become commercially viable, independent of the tax-payer dollar, you are technically speaking not viable. You were close to being merged with the Dees a few years ago for a reason, and you are only one bad season from these plans being dusted off. The Hawks have always been handicapped by having a weak, disinterested supporter base, even during their distant premiership years. This hasn't changed. Following the almost merge with the Dees, the Hawks had 3 options. One was to merge next time with the Dees, the other was to re-locate interstate. This life-saving deal with the Tassie government, allowed the Hawks to in effect do a part-relocation, and get the benefit of crucial tax-payers dollars. Clubs don't do part-relocations unless they are getting desperate. :)

Chances are they are out next election. I wonder where that leaves your deal?

This has been a hilarious thread but seriously fellow hawkers enough already. This club is not a threat to us and trying to reason with these delusional fools is pointless. They have had so much practice at talking up their rabble the last 10 off seasons they have turned bullshit excuses into an art form. Remember the old saying, first they drag you down to their level, then they beat you with experience.
We'll settle this on the ground.
We tore em a new one last year and this year we'll ream it out bigger.

It's no worse than going onto any other board especially Hawthorn's and try and talk comparisons with them.

However, on the Carlton board, we have the arrogance that comes with 16 premierships (and being the first to accomplish that feat as well) and the supporters of the blues tend to be a tad overprotective of our club... and we will all stand up and slap down anyone from outside the club who bags it or the players.

So, it would not just be Parrot doing the teaching to those stupid enough to come on our board trying to say that the blues are crap. There are a lot of us here who will be quite happy to do the job...
