Politics & Government Are we about to have an economic crisis when the rest of the world is booming?

Well if Abott hadn't broken such a staggering amount of pre-election promises (and nno matter what they do it appears they can't wreck Australia's strong economy in time for the next budget, as much as it pains Hockey) Gillard would be going down as the PM who brought in the NDIS and Gonski - two of hte most overdue and much needed reforms in history.

You've missed the major one: all three are beholden to those who run the United States.

For one example, look up the 'trans pacific partnership'.

For another, look up 'pine gap'.

To their credit, the Greens at least ask questions about these issues. But they still happily form coalitions with the ALP when it is politically expedient to do so. And for some reason do not support drug law reform. Now why is that?

Drug law reform too many would be out of work, lose control if any serious reform was undertaken. Also not many other countries are doing it and Australia won't want to be the guinea pig.

As for the reliance on the US one really obvious solution to it yet it hasn't been canvassed in the last 30 years so there are deals done behind the scenes. Needless to say if Australia had our own nukes it would be utterly needless to go running after the US in whatever theater of war they decide to enter. With all the uranium and raw materials we have a little siphoned off to protect ourselves would barely be noticed in commodities markets.

Drug law reform in Colorado looks to be creating millions upon millions in profit for the state and private industry.

The biggest issue is what to do with all the cops that made their money in either enforcing or abetting the trade in previous years.

She was good at starting the fights.

Unfortunately no good at selling the need to fight.

Bit hard with a media monopoly and their political party (the Libs) shrieking and carrying on like nutters and a white anting piece of s**t in your party ranks.
