Our boys are much more mature now. The younger ones in Rioli, Ryan, Venables & Cole have added more than we could've hoped for. Sheed has come into form at the right time.

Nic Nat is a huge loss, but Lycett & Vardy have stepped up big time. As bad as I feel for Naita, I'd love to see Vardy with a premiership medal.

We have tommy Barras .....I rate this guy highly

Very highly and believe one day he will be as a good as McGovern

We have rioli and Ryan

Cripps is way more consistent

Darling doesn’t drop marks and his kicking has improved out of sight

Yup no gaff no Nic Nat ....no Shep ...but the replacements are very good

Sheed has improved and Schofield is excellent ...mocgovern is much better player now too ....

Have only Kennedy isn’t as Dominant as 2015 but he’s had injuries ......everyone else has improved

We had butler .....geez cole is better than butter......we have Jetta

This is way way better team ...and our road wins are indicative of that

He sacrifices his game for Gov. Given the chance to play Gov's role he'd do just as good.

If we have no changes, this would be the difference of 2015 & 2018 (off the top of my head - I could miss a few)

Back line outs; Butler, Wellingham, Sheppard, Ellis
Ins; Duggan, Jetta, Cole, Barrass

Whilst 2015's outs are arguably better (over their careers) our 2018 group adds a very different dynamic down there, Cole & Jetta especially. Hurn is also more comfortable as Captain. Our backline is also faster these days with Cole & Jetta effectively playing where Butler & Ellis were playing.

Mids outs; Priddis, Gaff, Naitanui, Sinclair, Rosa
Ins; Vardy, Lycett, Redden

We've got no Naitanui, unfortunately. No Gaff either. But what matters most is we have 2018 version of Elliot Yeo now, a rejuvenated Masten, Shuey & Sheed in form and a shiny new Jack Redden. Our 2018 midfield is much better.

Forwards outs; Hill
Ins; Venables, Ryan, Rioli

No question, 2018 shits all over 2015. Hill kicked 40 or so goals from memory but Cripps has gone to another level, and between Ryan, Rioli and Venables, there's way more forward pressure down there now.

Butler - Cole
Sheppard - Jetta
Wellingham - Barrass
Ellis - Duggan
Priddis - Redden
Naitanui - Lycett
Gaff - Venables
Sinclair - Vardy
Rosa - Rioli
Hill - Ryan

More rotation spread within the forward line and midfield, Venables, Ryan, Rioli & Cripps have all had extended time in the midfield this year

I would go as far as saying 2018 best 22 is better then the 2006 best 22.

While the Midfield in 06 is obviously stronger our forward line in 18 in 10x better and the defence is a lot better imo

I think the 06 forward line would struggle to kick 10 goals against the likes of Gov, barrass, Hurn n shep

Disagree - the 2006 outfit would have comfortably been the best side in the comp this year. That midfield was one of the greatest of all time.

Yes but our midfield carried that team, this is a far more even team
Back lines about even, '06 midfield superior, '06 ruck division superior.

I'd argue the forward line is the one distinct area in which this current side is better than the '06 side.

Doubtful.

Everything worked perfectly.

Planets aligned.

Need everything to be perfect to be even a sniff of a chance

On SM-G925I using BigFooty.com mobile app

Disagree with the planets aligning.

Naitanui did his knee, you would have thought for us to win the flag last year he needed to be dominant.
JK missed huge chunks, also would have thought he’d need to Coleman for us to win
JD, whilst he stepped up his game and probably did what was required for us to win a flag for injured and wasn’t quite the same until the third qtr of the grand final
Gaff
Shep pings a hammy in the qf
