I say we will be until we have enough key position backmen.
We might have a few off games, and we may taper off towards the end of the season. But that doesn't make us pretenders. As Clarkson said in his press conference, our position on the ladder doesn't change the fact that we are a young side. At the start of the season, I reckon every supporter on this board would have taken 4-2 after 6 in a heartbeat.

True, but we have had a good draw so far. We have three trips west toward the end of the season.

Brown is the big issue. If we can stop him we should win. Croad must go back I believe. Bring in Boyle and chuck him in at CHF.

Lose to Brissy and bottom four we'll finish.

Mate, we were tipped to go for the Spoon. Just stress less, we're doing ok..
Good call NW, and we might want to keep a lid on it when it comes to slagging clubs before we've actually beaten them.

Of course you are. You didn't expect going from being bottom 4 straight to being contenders did you? You're obviously in the same boat as us.

4-2 is a fantastic start so just keep enjoying the ride... and don't expect too much.

to get into last years final 8 you needed 12 wins

we have 4 now

we need 8 out of the 16 that are left

so if when win every second game, then we are there.

keep the faith :)

How good did Croad look bursting out of the backline yesterday when he went back there.

Croad to the backline
Boyle to forwardline (did this guy run over the coach's dog or something)
Williams to pull his head in

Sage advice indeed.

Somehow, I'm not expecting it to be taken to heart.

I think we may have to continue with pre game slagging. followed by post game slagging. before we evolve into silent smugness.
This will be played out over a few years and requires constantly improving form, starting from a low base.

My sentiments exactly!!! We need to be patient with things, i know it is difficult but i am confident that we will again be a force in the near future. The boys are going ok at the moment and 4-2 after 6 is ok with me..... ;)

How the hell could we be called pretenders.
We won 5 games in total last season.
We've won 4 from 6 this year.
Supporters wanted improvement from last year. We've already seen heaps.

Step away from the panic button.

Er, boys, to earn the title of pretender you have to first reach the point of being considered a premiership contender.

As we haven't got close to the latter, then we can't be the former.

:D Well, we seem to have the first two covered - I'm going to try and get an early start on "silent smugness".
