As the title suggests, are you happy with your clubs selections today?
Since the board only allows 16 options per thread I've broken it up into Top & Bottom 8s

Well you have to allow for Yes or No for each team, that makes 32 options
I didn't realise that the thread was posted before I finished entering the options

For the Roos.

IN: Thompson, Smith, Moran, Pratt, Schwarze

OUT: A. Stevens, King, Porter, S. Clayton, Robbins

The loss of experience has weakened our list. I'm not totally sold on Thompson, Smith is the bonus, Moran will either be an inspired selection or a total dud, and the last two have squad player written all over them. On the bright side, at least we didn't draft Hulme, Cox, Fleming or some of the other names bandied about.

I'm a bit meh about it. If anything, I'm looking forward to the rookie draft to see if we pick up any young Northern Territory kids that Bewick may have the inside word on.

We have had a high-risk draft. Egan seems to be one of those BOG or benched players, a total smokie in Rusling and a postive looking punt with pick 55 (give up on spelling his name just yet.)

But I do think our team lacks the 'X-factor' as it stands and hopefully (at least) one of our first two picks will provide it.

Will be inbterestoing to see how MM deals with Egan. Two seasons in the back pocket at Willimastown learning accountability would make his selection a total waste of time.

I went no, but it's a real gamble. Collingwood drafted:
10# Chris Egan (Looks like an Alan Didak)
23# Sean Rusling (Hasn't played enough footy)
39# Travis Cloke (Like him already, should be a good pick)
55# Adam Iacobucci (Roughie and has had injuries)

I guess I agree to some extent on the preliminary assessments, but if we have both Didak and Egan, at least one of them should end up being the superstar they have the talent to be.

However, although I consider the first two picks to be big risks, I'm actually quite happy with that strategy. I'd rather go for high-risk, high-reward picks than safe picks, because safe picks are never going to net you a superstar down the drafting order.

the first few of carltons picks i am very happy with and i hope i am proven wrong with this bryan guy, but i was hoping that in one of our last couple of picks we would pick up either kirkby or grundy. It was very surprising to see grundy and kirkby not drafted at all as i was expecting to see them go top thrity.

Should be a public poll so we can see that people are voting in their own club category.

I am happy with what the Blues have done.

#9 - Jordan Russell - tallish midfielder with Judd like pace and can kick on both sides of the body.
#25 - Adam Hartlett - Tall defender who is just at home up forward kicking plenty of goals. According to West Adelaide supporters, can play any key position on the ground. Good hands, good pace and a good kick.
#41 Luke Blackwell - Will take a couple of years to be big enough to tackle senior opposition regularly but has all the skills and finds plenty of ball.
#73 - Chris Bryan - ruckman/forward with plenty of size and a good kick.
#77 - Anthony Raso - 190cm forward, bottom aged player that will take time to develop. A long kick and spectacular mark.

I think we have done pretty well. A tall defender, a tall forward, a ruckman and two midfielders.

I'm happy with our selections, should mean our kpp are locked up hopefully for 10 or so years now, next season we can go after our other problem areas.

I reckon we have definately improved our list this trading/drafting period. The players we have delisted, retired were having no or a very limited impact on games. Kingy showed glimpses, but for Stevo & Porter the heart was there, the performance wasn't to match. Clayts & Robbins didnt play.

I rate Thompson higher. I reckon he will ruck, and play out of CHF. Thommo can play both position we struggled last season in. Moran sounds exiting, a bloke that big & quick is worth the punt. JW Smith will hopefully play a few games next season.

As you say our rookie drafting will be just as good with 5 picks in it and some decent knowledge about the NT, in our coaching/recruitment team.
