Yeah i would agree with that- there are some great moments, but then others are pretty stupid.

I think i have more of a fondness for it cause i saw it in London, at the movie in 2003 when it came out in the week before Christmas.

After years of banging on about it, I got my wife to tee up Love Actually for us to watch to see what all the fuss was about.

The minute it ended I told her that's the reason we go to the movies together once ever 2 years. Drivel. Where's the mafia FFS?? Or Cousin Eddie if you need a Chrissy theme???

Die Hard - Yes. Villains try to ruin Christmas, hero saves the day and wins back the heart of his love. Side kick with self-doubt regains faith in himself, realising he’s a good man. It’s quintessential Christmas FFS.

Real tree - have had both, but when can be bothered real >>> fake.

Fruit cake is neither delicious or disgusting. It’s just ok.

Decorations depends on if you have kids. If you don’t a couple of weeks before Christmas, if you do the start of December.

And Merry Christmas. If someone doesn’t celebrate Christmas don’t wish them any Seasons greetings. I don’t feel the need for Muslims to wish me happy Ramadan or Jews Happy Hannuka.

I love getting gift cards. I can get what I want and not be stuck with some shitty gift that I don't need.

Yeah idm them- but the other month I came across 2 x Hoyts vouchers, one month past the expiry. ******* pissed at myself for forgetting about them. But why the hell should there be an expiry date anyway- didnt even bother trying at the box office, they wouldnt have accepted them.

Unless you have absolutely no money I'd prefer a gift. Sure you have to put up with the occasional useless item but some of my most prized possessions over life have been random stuff family have given me that I would have never thought of getting. If I want something from Bunnings I'll go buy it myself ffs.

Like physical items a lot of gift cards go wasted as well anyway.

It depends on the way the cash is handed over too as to whether it fits the theme of Christmas gift giving. If cash is being given as a present in my family, normally it comes in a nice card with a box of chocolates. Wrapping cash up in a card with some chocolates is different to just opening up your wallet and handing someone a sweaty $50 note, which is the way giving cash at Christmas is often percieved
