A few years on, what benefit have we gained from this review?

Has it been to the detriment?

Sounds as though it was pretty much ignored. If our domestic summer doesn't focus on shield cricket, then how are we going to produce test cricketers?

Was always a waste of time.

The review didn't recommend sacking the dickheads in charge whose mistakes had put us in the position where we needed the review.

The same clowns stayed, and kept making the same mistakes.

The very first words, on the title page, of the report are: AUSTRALIAN TEAM PERFORMANCE REVIEW

The Argus Report was focused on the team. That's why Border, Taylor and Waugh were there. Why you think this report should have, in part, focused on the suits, so to speak, continues to bemuse me. That was never part of the plan. Should it have been? Absolutely no. An entirely separate report should have tackled that task and not intruded on the team report. (and that report should have been commissioned and as far as I know wasn't. The Crawford/Carter report of the same time focused on Governance and forged the way for the reform in CA structure, but didn't get down to whether the CEO or whoever should be sacked.)

To paraphrase Gideon Haigh, they grabbed the low hanging fruit, but left the hard stuff alone. Now we've got a truckload of cash but a broken system and team that's divided and the vast majority of the population cannot relate to. Far from rosy.
