Dennis trained with his usual high intensity and was again impressive.

When he came out after training he wasnt swamped by fans so I got to have a brief chat with after having a photo taken with him.

Aissassin : Good luck mate I'm really looking forward to seeing you play next year, I'm a fan.

Armfield : Mate Im working my butt off 110% in every single thing I do here. Training, fitness, strength work....I couldn't go any harder. I hope I get a game, I really want to play.

He seemed so determined and intense I had to smile........I told him my money is on him to play this year.
 
yeah he really loves to interact with the fans IMHO.

I got him to sign a photo I took of him with my daughter at the carlton meet & greet.......I printed an 8 x 10 photo (turned out rather well)

anyway he looked at it & went ewwww yuk......
then realised what he said & went on to say I mean Me I look Horrid.....

I said nah you are sexy! It's a beautiful shot..... anyway, he signed the pic & my daughter said I'm gonna sleep with that now !!! he laughed.....
then he mingled with more fans...

anyhow my daughter myself & my hubby left after that & we were walking through the carpark & Dangles followed us....

my daughter: are you following us?
dangles: well I have to make sure you are looking after that picture....
my daughter: don't worry its in good hands
dangles: just make sure if I have a bad game.......do not rip it up ok?
me: no we won't rip it up....we will burn it....
me: only joking dennis....
he laughed then got into a waiting car

he really seems to like chatting to the fans & he is going to South Africa & hoping to play

He seemed really nice.

IMO missing out in the 05 draft before getting this opportunity has made him extra hungry.

Today he spent nearly all his time matched up against Eddie as a defender, so it seems that is the role they have him earmarked for in his early days.

Looks like he will be playing BP on the indigenous and sppedy types.....matched up on eddy in most drills today........ Btw eddie is so cool..he came and sat next to m on a benchy thing for no reason! Does anyone else reckon benji looks like an insecct
 
I like him.

I actually have him in the back pocket in my best 22 for the reason you mention Blueinblood. Although i think he's the type of player (especially judging on his video footage) who can really hurt his opponent when the ball is going back forward aswell.

Looking forward to seeing him play.
 
I'll admit to being more excited about Stephen Browne than Armfield, but I have to say I'm very impressed with the guy's maturity and passion. Hope he cements a spot this year :thumbsu:
 
^^ Setanta was absent from training but he was fine lst time i saw him so i dont think it was injury related. Brad Fisher (knee?) is still in the injury group but will be right. Hadley(knee) is "getting there, there feeling good" with his knees as he put it. Benjamin didnt participate in many drills. Judd (groin) still only does 70% of drills with the main group. Doesnt do any real contact work. One of the new boys who i thought was Aaron Joseph was running laps after doing kicking drills. Walker (shoulder) does kicking and handballing with the main group but not yet up for contact work. Ackland mainly ran laps. ran quite a few. So WALKER, there are a few small injuries but nothing serious. The one that gets me worried is brad fisher as he has been in the injury group for a whille but i think he did a marking drill yesterday. On a bright note stevens is loking great and still diving into packs

sounds like they are all going ok, and should be right 4 round 1... cheers mate!!

I have only seen Browne play at the championships in '07, and was very impressed by his composure, and the way that he uses the ball. His decision making is pretty solid as well.

Wouldn't expect him to debut with Carlton early in the season, but, I don't think it's too far fetched to think he could debut before the halfway mark of the season.
