Arnot Out. Vlastuin in

Good post. Happy to concede that Vlas is at this point the better player. He was made to earn it at the lower level, came up, showed a bit and got every opportunity to adapt and improve his game at senior level. It just irks me when a player without the top 10 tag follows the same path (arguably more consistently at VFL level) has a great game in the seniors and then gets the flick. We should've found room in the side for him to get the opportunity to back it up. We need the message to be clear to our developing players.

To be honest, the bloke probably deserving to be left out for Biscuits (only on last week) was Kingy then White. Kingy was never going to be dropped with his 100th game being this week and White is the perfect sub for us. Wouldn't be surprised to see Arnot play again against the Gold Coast/Freo...

Vlastuin has shown more obviously so can walk back in - though I'm a bit disappointed to not see Arnot hold his place given he led the way for defensive acts and tackles last week.

One consolation for him is that Dimma apparently (according to this week's Dimma's Dissection) showed the footage of Arnot to the coburg players and said that is why he got a game and if they want to get a run in the seniors, they need to follow his example :thumbsu:

All about tackles with these two. That's what we need from them at this stage.

Vlas is under the pump to lay 4, 5 or 6 this week given that's what Arnot did..

Is Vlas an established player though? First year vs a first year. Don't understand how Arnot gets dropped for Vlas based on his performance last week.

Vlastuin is the more established player simply because he has played more games. Arnot has played one good game against St Kilda, Vlastuin has backed up his performances by playing well consistently. Arnot is a promising player but Vlastuin is ahead of him at this stage. Arnot will get another chance if he keeps at it at VFL level.

I wouldn't be surprised of an opposition club targets Arnott and some other fringe players at the end of the year. We have been looking to pinch players with talent but lack opportunity over the years. I fear that now we will be on the receiving end of that.

It's a good problem to have I suppose because it means that the list has depth, but that depth won't last long if these type of players leave.

FYI. I would have loved to have Arnott in the side but someone had to make way for Vlas. It's hard to decide who should have been the unlucky omission.

Like you said, a good problem to have.. I was hoping Astbury, Elton and Griffiths were banging down the door, so they hade trade currency at the end of the year. Clubs are screaming for KP talent, and we could do some significant draft upgrading or trading.

Good contribution. Honestly, I don't see why keeping Arnot in the team (if it must be at the expense of Vlastuin) and rewarding a bloke who has been belting down the door in the VFL and proved he's up to it at AFL level is such a one sided argument on here. He is EXACTLY what we need in the team this week. Vlas will come in and play a handy game no doubt but I reckon Arnot could really put some authority in our midfield.
You Must be...............Sober.:D

Not sure what the fuss is all about,Yes Arnot had a good debut,But seriously against Stkilda last week,Even JON would looked like a world beater.

You jest surely....

Arnot had a solid debut (pretty good) but probably played better than expectations, hence the praise on here but Vlas has contributed more, more often so far this season.

Arnot should be gunning for Kingy's spot or building up his tank and target the sub spot, currently White's....
