It was arranged that way a couple of weeks ago, when the AFL decided there would be no pre-finals bye this year, owing to COVID uncertainty in scheduling. Good teams (and games) played early this weekend, to maximise the chance of those sides getting a 7-day break before their first final, with today being as inconsequential as possible.
