Could have sworn I remember there was talk in weidemans draft year that he was our first choice at 10 and Harry the fallback if he was gone?
I didn't know that. Thank goodness, that it fell the way it did. Although in fairness, I think he will come good. It's Caro's reaction to Harry and SPS that i'm objecting to. I think Sam will fine in due time.

Not sure about that.

I haven't really seen any aggression or contested marking ability from Weideman.

I think some of the experts on the main board may be rethinking their position that Carlton should have followed Melbourne's lead and traded out draft picks for mature players. They have a worrying lack of quality 18-20 to improve the list.

Looks like another rebuild for the Demons to me

Missing their 3 best defenders, not surprising how terrible they are defensively.

But the scoring woes are getting progressively worse and don't look like improving. This is their best forward line and midfield combination, probably just Hannan missing, who is hardly a game-breaker. :$

As would seem to be the case for a number of Dees' players. One wonders what has changed there to have them playing like some of the worst Dees' teams of the last decade & a bit.
Maybe they went on a (secret) pre-season camp, at which they all learned to hate one another, themselves, and their footy club? It’s a copycat industry, after all. ;)

The thing that has me perplexed is their insipid midfield ….. did their coaching line change???
Once Goodwin started dropping players behind the ball they didn’t look like scoring, they might have to be daring and play Max up forward with Pruess rucking when they get May and Lever back. IDK what other options they have unless they go smaller because McDonald and Weiderman isn’t working

It's genuinely incredible how bad Melbourne are this year. What the hell happened in the last 6 months?
They got talked up as certainties to challenge on the back of last year, some believed it would automatically happen and have dropped off in their preparation, application or dedication.

It happens to young teams who aren’t prepared for it, thought that was why Lewis was at the club.
