I’ll be honest with you Soap I wanted him because he looked brilliant in that GWS midfield but not for 2 firsts. Then seeing him live today was very very disappointing he’s one of those give and go blokes that gets 400 touches hanballing sideways then getting it back then putting on Danihers head and giving him no chance. Not what we needed.
I dont think that word ever applied. He played well in a potentially brilliant midfield is closer to the mark. I never could see how he was going to lift us as much as some were saying. It was nothing more than a mature body from a decent side we wanted. Who as a supporter could have guessed we would get that in Walsh. Well I guess SOS did thank heavens.

Get rid of the prior opportunity rule. Been saying it for years.
If you are tackled and don’t dispose of the ball with a kick or handball, bad luck, holding the ball.
Would get rid of 90% of the stoppages around the ground, and open the game up.
Which is what the AFL wants......isn’t it o_O

Get rid of taggers and tacklers that are content not to play in front would be better. Penalise the constant tackles laid before a player actually has the ball. Reward the player that goes in and gets it and give them time to dispose. Much better idea. Based on the fundamental aim of the game.

Wouldn’t it mean that players would be reluctant to attack the ball and take first possession?

I agree with the tackles that are laid before someone gets the ball these should be paid as holding the man every time and would open the game up too.

Didn’t stop us back in the day.
The good players got the ball and disposed of it, or balked, did the old blind turns etc, etc

It would certainly make things simpler in terms of interpreting the rule. I also think you’d have a bazillion free kicks.

And while I’m not that old, there’s always been some sort of “prior opportunity”. Tackling someone - or wrapping a ball up - even back in the day didn’t immediately get you a free kick.

Gee Shiel seemed to have some poor disposals when the game was on the line
Reading the Filth and * boards is extremely entertaining at the moment.

Obviously us guys are a much better brand of supporter because we have learnt the humility of losing again and again and again.

I just hope when our time does come we do show some class & humility......if this had of been our team supporters booing the hell out of a player who had got BOG I would be extremely embarrassed.

I don't know why Pendlebury was booed. He really is a champion and deserved the medal. Couldn't work it out, but my missus said she thought it was because of his staging. (There was a free kick given to him. He threw his head back when he was tackled head on. He really emphasised the throwing back of the head IMO and got the free kick. It was at a vital stage I think in *'s backline.) You know, it really pisses me off that the only players that can win this medal are from Collingwood and *. ;)
It's about time for a change. The ANZAC Day match should be scheduled as the return match between the previous season's grand finalists.

I'm not condoning it, because I actually like Pendlebury, and he didn't deserve the treatment given from the * supporters.

But I wonder if the filth supporters who are bitching about it are the same ones who gave it to Juddy every time he went near the ball every time we played that scum. He didn't deserve that treatment either.

So before Bucks comes out and says 'shame on supporters booing a champion', look no further than your own mob. I believe he was both an assistant coach as well as senior coach during that period. Nothing to see here.

We have long memories too.

You’d think after what, 8 live prime time games in 9 days, the game would be better than a deleted Twitter response, and a bunch of drunks yelling at the end of the game, as the lead stories.

AFL lives in its own universe and wonders why it has no international appeal.
