i'd rather aim to be a powerhouse like hawthorn or sydney, rather than perennial losers like saints or bulldogs.
You might be witnessing the birth of a powerhouse in the Bulldogs.

This "oh they have always been losers and always will" is the kind of hubris that got us into the position we are.

The Dogs last 15 years has bee far far easier to watch than our shitful club.

Inspirational win by the Dogs. Outside of the Blues, or anyone playing Richmond, I never "hope" for any other side to win. But I will be barracking hard for the Dogs next week. Now.......

Before I get yelled down, please remember this is just an opinion...

But for me, Bob Murphy plays this week.
It's been six months. The next six months is just precautionary. He can run and kick a footy. I know it won't happen, but it should!

There will be plenty of players next week playing hurt or with niggles. There's also a chance one or more players may not be able to finish the game. It's part of footy. If anyone is worth taking a risk on, it's Bob. In my opinion, it's a no brainier.

Do it Bevvo, you will go down in football folklore.

What time did you start drinking this morning?

Ok great win last night by the Dogs...lets have a best headline competition. Winner gets a free Platinum membership....I am sure ODN is cool with this!

Mine draws inspiration from the hot dog can out the front of the Tunnel back in the late 80's.

Hot Dogs, sauce of fans enjoyment, cheese they were good!

I hear where you are coming from coach but you have finally lost your mind.
I'm very happy that you think it's only just happened. Trust me, that ship has sailed long ago.

What time did you start drinking this morning?
Just for the record, I don't drink. Ever. But I can understand why you'd think that.

That's a terrible idea Coach but it comes from a good place. Terrible, terrible idea.
Not my first terrible idea MEB. More than likely, won't be my last.

I guess it's easy to assume, playing a half fit Bob Murphy will hinder the team and effectively see the Dogs play one short.
I like to think a player like Bob, and they are rare, would do just the opposite. It would lift and inspire the other 21 to do things they've never done on a football ground before. Thus they won't be one short but effectively have an extra player on the day.

Anyway, moot point, it won't happen....
But it should !

He doesn't have to play, he is still their spiritual leader.
I also thought Boyd was enormous last night, may just have been the making of him.

The inspiration is there for all to see.
Pre-season 2015 the bulldogs were widely tipped for the wooden spoon. But they had just employed a wonderfull coach who instilled confidence and belief in his players. Saturday they play in a Grand Final.

It can turn around for us. And it can turn around quickly. The foundations are in place.

Scoring a midfield of father son picks under the old system doesn't hurt either!

Go down in football folklore as an absolute idiot!

Thought T Boyd was good last night, boy those dogs have some great young talent, those father sons are rippers

Why are so many people, commentators included, seemingly going out of their way to make a point about Boyd lately?

2 kicks and a few handballs and his name has to be raised as though he's winning games off his own boot. :)

Number 1 draft pick & a million $dollar contract comes to mind.

In an ideal world, if was possible, if the Dogs were home and hosed in the final quarter, i'd let Bob Murphy go on the field in the final 2-3 minutes so he can celebrate with his teammates and collect a Premiership medal.

I am sure the AFL would allow the Bulldogs special permission to name 23 players and the Swans the regulation 22 players.

Yes I know, in an ideal world.

No need for any special permission or arrangement. Play Bob in the 22. It's simple...

You're in the majority Aph. I must have it very wrong, because for me it's a no brainer...

If it's any consolation. I felt at the time he did it, both he & the club should have opted for LARS. Which would have given him the opportunity to play come September.

Yeah....Hindsight is a wondrous thing.
