That game also showed the Giants vulnerability when they don’t get the game on their terms….

The were scored heavily on in short periods twice in this game despite winning….

Cats have, IIRC, a shocking record the week after a bye both during the season and in finals.

We'll see.

They managed fine in 2022 prelim v lions, we will see.

Yes, Footscray under the present finals system.
Adelaide won the flag from 4th and 5th in 1997 & 1998 but the finals system for the top 8 was different between 1994-1999.
1v8,2v7,3v6,4v5. So the 4th team did not have to face the top side at the start of the finals.
